Indira Gandhi Agricultural University(IGAU) is a public university located in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India established on 20th January 1987.The University is recognized by UGC and has 15 affiliated colleges and 16 constituent colleges and offers a range of education in professional and academic courses in three faculties i.e. Agriculture, Horticulture and Agricultural Engineering. The University offers admission to following PGprogrammesfor the year 2017:

  • M.Sc.  Agriculture
  • M.Sc. Horticulture
  • MBA -Agri-Business Management
  • M.Tech. Agricultural Engineering

Candidates with the relevant UG qualification register for the above-mentioned programs. The university provides reservation of seats/ relaxation of marks for SC/ST/OBC etc. as per the rules of the Government and norms of the university.

Candidates can register for admission by filling in the online application form and submit the required processing fee, on or before the last date. Admission to PG programs is done on the basis of merit of the candidate in entrance test (CET)-conducted by the university followed by the counseling.

M.Sc Agriculture

Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Eligibility: Candidate should hold B.Sc. (Ag.)/ B.Sc. (Hort.)/ B.Sc. (Ag. Biotechnology)/ B.Sc. (Forestry) degree under 10+2+4 system from a recognized University with minimum O.G.P.A 6.00 out of 10 point scale or 60% in marks system of examination or equivalent grades.

MBA/PGDM

Candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree under 10+2+4 system in Agriculture or Horticulture or Agricultural Engineering from a recognized University with O.G.P.A 6.00 out of 10 point scale or 60% in marks system of examination or equivalent grades.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Forestry)

  • Candidate should hold B.Sc. Forestry /B.Sc. (Hon.) Forestry degree under 10+2+4 system from a recognized University with minimum O.G.P.A 6.00 out of 10 point scale or 60% in marks system of examination or equivalent grades.
  • The candidates with B.Sc. (Ag.)/B.Sc. (Horticulture) passed under the 10+2+4 system with minimum O.G.P.A 6.00 out of 10 point scale or 60% in marks system of examination or equivalent grades will be considered only if such candidates opt for compulsory non-credit deficiency courses of Forestry.

ME/M.Tech

M.Tech. Agricultural Engineering– 2 years

  • Farm Machinery and Power Engineering Eligibility: Candidate must have a degree ofB.Tech. (Agril. Engg.)/ B.Sc. (Agril.Engg.)/ B.E. (Agril.Engg.)/ B.Tech. (Mechanical Engg.)/ B.Sc. (Mechanical Engg.)/B.E. (Mechanical Engg.) from a recognized University under the 10+2+4 system with 6.00 OGPA out of 10 point scale or 60% in marks system of examination or equivalent grade.
  • Soil and Water Engineering Eligibility: Candidate should possess a degree of B.Tech. (Agril. Engg.)/ B.Sc. (Agril.Engg.)/ B.E. (Agril.Engg.)/ B.Tech. (Civil Engg.)/ B.Sc. (Civil Engg.)/B.E. (Civil Engg.) from a recognized University under 10+2+4 system with minimum 6.00 OGPA out of 10 point scale or 60% in marks system of examination or equivalent grade
  • Agricultural Processing and Food Engineering Eligibility: Candidate should have a degree of B.Tech. (Agril. Engg.)/ B.Sc. (Agril.Engg.)/ B.E. (Agril.Engg.)/ B.Tech. (Chemical Engg.)/ B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/ B.Sc. (Dairy Technology/ B.E. (Dairy Technology) /B.Tech. (Food Engineering) from a recognized University under the 10+2+4 system with minimum 6.00 OGPA out of 10 point scale or 60% in marks system of examination or equivalent grade.

Note: 5% relaxation will be given in minimum admission requirement to the reserved category (SC/ST).


How To Apply

M.Sc , MBA/PGDM & ME/M.Tech

The candidates can apply for admissions by filling and submitting the completed online application form along with the required amount of processing fee and important documents before Jun 3, 2017. Candidate can log into the university website and follow the subsequent steps:

  • Ensure the eligibility criteria and possession of an active mail-ID
  • Fill up all correct details in Application Form
  • Upload the required documents along the application form
  • Pay the application fees either through online mode by using their debit/credit card or net banking option. Fees can also be paid offline via challan/ in shape of crossed Demand Draft in favor of "Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.)" payable at Raipur
  • Submit the application form by clicking on submit button.
  • Application form duly completed in all respect along with self-addressed envelope (23"x10") affixed with postal stamps of Rs. 20/- should reach the Registrar, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Krishak Nagar, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) 492-006
  • Candidate must keep the hard copy of application form for future reference.

Candidates are directed to submit the soft copies of the following documents along with application form:

  • Domicile Certificate
  • Caste Certificate, wherever applicable.
  • Certificate showing date of birth.
  • Mark sheet/Certificate of the qualifying examination
  • Other relevant documents

NOTE:

  • The application fee for OBC of Chhattisgarh and Unreserved category: Rs. 400/-
  • An application fee for SC/ST of Chhattisgarh: Rs. 100/- 
  • The application fee is non-refundable
  • The candidates appearing in the entrance test have to bring admit card and identity proof at the entrance examination center
  • The list of qualified candidates will be declared on the website.


Admission Process

M.Sc (Agriculture) , M.Sc & MBA/PGDM

Admission to above courses shall be based on the merit to be determined by the entrance examination (CET), provided the candidates fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria.

The entrance test for the above course shall be based on the syllabus of the qualifying degree

Counselling:

The candidates who are selected in the entrance examination/ merit list are required to participate in the interview/counseling process. Candidates are directed to bring the application form, photocopies and the originals of the following documents for the purpose of verification at the time of counseling:

  • Last semester report card and/or provisional degree certificate 
  • Permanent caste certificate (For SC/ST and OBC candidates) 
  • No objection certificate by in-service candidates of Chhattisgarh Agriculture Department 
  • PH (physically handicapped) certificate issued by Napier Town, Jabalpur for PH candidates if claiming for PH quota.

Note: Submission of online counseling form is compulsory.


Hostel

The university provides hostel facility to the deserving candidates. Hostel facility is available separately for males and females in all the constituent colleges of the university. The university provides mess, accommodation and various other recreational facilities to the candidates in the various hostel blocks.

Desirous and eligible candidates can apply for hostel facility, however separate charges are to be paid for the same.
