Xavier University, commonly known as XUB, is a Jesuit Catholic Indian University located in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, India. The University is considered as the first full-digitalized University of India by many.

The University, which was established in 2013, is known for providing Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral degrees in various courses to its students. The University provides these degrees in six main areas, also known as the Schools of the University.

They are, the Xavier Institute of Business Management (XIMB), the Xavier School of Human Resource Management (XaHR), the Xavier School of Rural Management (XSRM), the Xavier School of Sustainability (XSOS), the Xavier School of Communications (XCOMM), and the Xavier School of Commerce (XSC). 

Students seeking admission in any of the Undergraduate programs offered by the University need to apply for the same by filling an application form followed by an Online Admission test and/or Personal/ Skype Interview.

The University prepares the final result by judging students on their performance in the Admission test, personal Interview, and their past academic records.

The students of the University are provided with many facilities like Hostel accommodations, regular conferences, internship opportunities and so on.  

XUB offers following Undergraduate courses:

  • Bachelor of Science- 3 years. (Under Xavier School of Sustainability).
  • Human Development (B.Sc. - HD).
  • Sustainable Development (B.Sc. - SD).
  • Sustainability Science and Technology (B.Sc. - SST).
  • Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication- 3 years. (Under Xavier School of Communications).
  • Bachelor of Commerce- 3 years. (Under Xavier School of Commerce.)
  • Accounting.
  • Finance.
  • Bachelor of Business Management- 3 years. (Under Xavier School of Commerce). 
  • HR.
  • Marketing.
  • Integrated Master of Business Administration- 5 years. (Under Xavier School of Sustainability).

Note: Along with BBM programs, students are required to choose an Honors course. Honors courses are offered by the University in Finance, Human Resource Management, Accounting, and Marketing.

Eligibility

MBA/PGDM , B.Com & BBA/BBM

Students seeking admission in any of the Undergraduate courses offered by the University must have passed Higher Secondary Examination (Class 10+2) from a recognized Board/ Council.

For B.Sc. in Mass Communication, BBM, and B.Com: The students must have passed Higher Secondary examination with at least 55% marks.

For B.Sc. in HD, SD, and SST: The students should have passed Higher Secondary Examination with at least 60% marks.

For integrated MBA: In Sustainability Management, students who are to continue their program in postgraduate level, they should secure a 1st class distinction in the Bachelor’s degree.


How To Apply

MBA/PGDM , B.Com & BBA/BBM

Students are required to apply online in order to get admission in the University. the application form for the same is available on the official website of XUB. The date for Admission test depends on the course students are opting for.

The students should make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria before applying. Otherwise, their applications can get rejected. The eligible candidates will have to appear in an online Admission Test/ personal interview. The details for the same are intimated to students through an e-mail.

Therefore, students need to provide a valid e-mail id as well as a phone number. Further, shortlisted listed students are called for a Personal/ Skype Interview.


Admission Process

Executive MBA , B.Com & BBA/BBM

For B. Com/BBM candidates, the selection is based on merit basis of their performance in Class 10th & 12th examinations.

For B. Sc in Mass Communication candidates, the selection is based on the result of the online admission test. After the test results are announced, shortlisted students are expected to go through a personal or a Skype Interview. The dates for the same are intimated to students through an e-mail sent to their registered e-mail id.

Finally, a list is prepared by the University on the basis of students' performance in their online Admission test and the personal interview. The past academic records of students are also taken into account.

The University also judges students on their Domain knowledge, performance in Co-curricular activities, Sustainability Aptitude, and General Awareness. 

Selected students are finally required to report at the University with required fees and documents for the final admission. After the payment is made successfully and verification of all the documents is completed, students are allotted with a seat as well as a hostel room (if required).

The hostel accommodation is limited in numbers. Hence, non-domicile students are given priority when it comes to allotment of hostel rooms.

Note: The students eligible for selection in B.Sc. in HD, SD, and SST need to submit a Statement of purpose along with their application followed by a Skype Interview.


Reservation

50% of the seats in the University are reserved for Orissa Domicile. Though, if the seats are left vacant, general students can be admitted as per the University's decision.
