IGNOU MA Admission 2017

IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University), New Delhi, is the largest Open University in the World. The university offers a plethora of under-graduate, post-graduate, doctoral, certificate and diploma courses through open and distance learning in arts, science and commerce streams.
IGNOU provides MA (Master of Arts) in 18 specializations. Duration of MA program is 2 years (minimum) and can extend up to 5 years. Selection is on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in their qualifying degree. Last date for the submission of IGNOU MA application forms (online or offline) is July 31, 2017

Note: Candidates must submit IGNOU MA program fee along with the application fee. Detailed fee structure is mentioned in the article.

IGNOU MA 2017 Eligibility Criteria

MA

Interested candidates must follow the given eligibility criteria for admission to IGNOU MA program 2017
For all IGNOU MA Programs except Education, Translation Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies
Candidate must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university for admission to the course
For IGNOU MA Education
Candidate will be admitted to the course even without any Bachelor’s degree
For IGNOU MA Translation Studies
Graduate in any discipline with adequate knowledge of Hindi and English
For IGNOU MA Women’s and Gender Studies
Students with a Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% aggregate


IGNOU MA 2017 Application Process

Application form is available in online as well as in offline mode. Detailed process for both is mentioned below
Online Mode:
For online application form submission, Candidates must visit the official IGNOU website i.e. www.ignou.ac.in . Step wise process is mentioned below
Step 1 Registration:

  • Candidates must register themselves first by creating a username and password.
  • They must fill all the necessary information like name, DOB, e-mail address and contact number. After filling the details, press ‘SUBMIT’ button.
  • Candidate’s username will be instantly sent to the registered e-mail ID and SMS.
  • Candidate must remember his/her Username and Password for subsequent login.

Step 2 Uploading:

  • After registration, candidates should keep the scanned copy of the following documents ready for application form filling

1.Scanned Photograph and signature 
2.Scanned copy of Age Proof
3.Scanned copy of Educational Qualification
4.Scanned Copy of Experience Certificate (if any)
5.Scanned Copy of Category Certificate, if SC/ST/OBC
6.Scanned Copy of BPL Certificate, if Below Poverty Line

Step 3 Preview:

  • After uploading of the scanned documents, candidates can click the ‘next button’ for the application form preview option.
  • In case of any error, they can go back and correct the details or can refill the form.

Step 4: Fee Submission

  • Candidates can pay the program fee in addition to application fee through debit card, credit card, net banking, ATM (PNB)
  • After successful fee submission, candidates must take print out of the online application form.

Offline Mode:

Students are required to purchase Student Handbook and Prospectus from the IGNOU Regional Centre or from the nearest Study Centre of IGNOU

  • Candidates can get the offline application form on payment of INR 200 in cash at the sale counter or by sending Demand Draft (DD) of INR 250 in favor of IGNOU Regional centre.
  • Candidatesmust fill all the information such as personal information, course details and educational qualifications correctly

CHECKLIST

i)Before sending the filled-in application form to concerned Regional Centre, candidates must  have enclosed ‘Self Attested’ following documents

  • Photograph (pasted) and other relevant documents mentioned below

ii) Certificates in support of your educational qualification(s) i.e. semester-wise/year wise mark sheets and Provisional/Degree Certificate(s),

iii) Experience certificate wherever required
iv) Category certificate (for SC/ST/PH/OBC (non-creamy layer).
v) Age certificate.
vi) Student Card duly filled in.
vii) Acknowledgement Card duly affixed with the postage stamp.

viii) Attached documentary proof (photocopy of BPL ration card), in case of below poverty line students

For International Candidates

i) Copy of Passport and Visa
ii) No Objection Certificate from the concerned Embassy in India
iii) Proof of residence of candidate in India

  • Attached  Pay Order/Demand Draft for the Program Fee/Fee for the first year
  • Candidate must write their name, program code and application no. on the reverse side of the Demand Draft

After checking all the information, the candidates can submit their form to their respective regional centers.
Note: Online candidates must submit application fee of INR 100 along with the course fee during fee submission process through online mode only. The program fee is refundable for both offline as well as online mode.
