Sacred Heart College Thevara is a private college established in 1944. In 2000, the college was accredited by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC). The College provides 11 undergraduate and 10 postgraduate programs and a range of diploma and certificate programs.

For admission in PG Courses:

  • The registration window will closes on June 20, 2017
  • The basic eligibility criterion is graduation with a minimum of 45% marks
  • Application form is available online on the official website
  • Application fee can be paid through three ways such as Challan, NEFT and Online through credit card, debit card or net banking
  • Application fee of INR 300 is for General candidates and INR 150 for SC/ST candidates

Sacred Heart College Thevara PG Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria will be based upon the pattern under which candidate has pursed the qualifying examination. The pattern will be chosen by the candidate at time of form filling. The patterns are CBCSS Pattern (Max grade point 4), CBCSS New Pattern (Max grade point 10) and Pre CBCSS Pattern (Based on Marks). The eligibility according to these patterns are as follows:

M.A. EnglishApplicants should possess CGPA of 4.5 out of 10 or equivalent marks in the Core Group (Core plus Open and Complementary courses). However, if the CGPA scored by the applicant for common course is greater than the CGPA scored for core course, the CGPA scored for common course will be taken in to account for the calculation of index marks, provided they secure a minimum CGPA of 5.0 out of 10 for common course

Sacred Heart College Thevara PG Application Process

B.Sc , B.Com & MA

Candidates must visit the official website for registering themselves for the course. The registration window closes on June 20, 2017. The application process is as follows:

  • Visit the official website
  • Click on ‘PG Admissions 2017-2018’ link
  • In case you are a new applicant, click on “Registration” button and enter the registration details
  • After registration, a unique Password will be send to your email and mobile immediately
  • Login with the username and unique password
  • Click on ‘Apply Online’ and select the mode of payment through which you want to make payment
  • After making payment, select the course in which you want admission
  • Fill the form with all relevant educational, personal and reservation information
  • At time of filling academic qualification, choose the pattern in which you have studied the qualifying examination
  • Upload recent scanned passport sized photograph
  • Preview the form before final submission
  • Submit the form

Note: No changes can be made after the final submission of application.

Application Fee

Candidates need to pay the application fee of INR 300 for General category candidates and INR 150 for SC/ST category candidates. The payment can be made through any of the following ways:

  • Challan payment: If you choose this mode, download, print the challan form and remit the application fee in any branch of the South Indian Bank. Enter the branch name & transaction date and click “Continue”
  • NEFT payment: In this mode, download & print the NEFT form and remit the fee in any bank and keep the counter foil and UTR number. Enter the branch name & transaction date and click “Continue”
  • Online payment: If you prefer this mode, use any debit/credit card except RuPay


Sacred Heart College Thevara PG Selection Process

BA , B.Sc & MA

Selection of candidates will be based on the Rank List which will be prepared on basis of qualifying examination.

  • Under Pre-CBCSS pattern, the rank of PG degree programs will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination in part III subjects. The index mark is arrived at after adding/deducting weightage/bonus marks/handicap marks, if any
  • Under CBCSS (NEW) pattern, the CGPA secured for Part III Core group (Core +Complementary courses). The index mark is arrived at after adding/deducting weightage/bonus marks/handicap marks, if any

Bonus Marks

The Bonus marks will be awarded as:

  • Bonus of five marks will be awarded to NCC and NSS candidates for admission to all programs
  • Bonus of 15 marks will be awarded to the Ex-servicemen applicants and widows and children of Jawans and Ex-service men seeking admission to the P.G. Programs
  • Bonus of 10 marks will be awarded to applicants who have graduated from Sacred Heart College, Thevara

Deduction in Marks

Handicap mark of 5 will be deducted from the total rank marks for each additional appearance he/she has taken for completing the qualifying examination. Number of chances means the number of chances for passing any part of the qualifying examination excluding cancellation.

Tie-Breaker

In case, more than one candidate obtaining equal index marks following tie breaker will be considered:

  • Candidate who has scored more marks in Part III Main will be placed higher in ranking
  • If the tie persists, candidate who has scored more marks in Part I common courses/papers English will be placed higher in ranking
  • If the tie still persists, the marks scored in Part II common course / additional language will be considered
  • If the tie still persists, the age of the candidates will be taken into account, the older being placed higher in the ranking
  • If the tie persists, the alphabetical order of the first name of the candidates will be taken into account.

Documents Required at time of Admission

Candidates need to bring original copies of these documents for verification and confirmation of admission. The list of documents are as follows:

  • Copy of the online application
  • Allotment Memo received online
  • Certificate to prove date of birth (Copy of Class X Mark List)
  • Transfer Certificate (TC) from the Institution last attended and Conduct Certificate
  • Grade card/ Mark lists of all parts of the Degree examination and Provisional/Degree Certificate
  • Medical certificate
  • Eligibility Certificate from Mahatma Gandhi University, in the case of candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from other Universities
  • Migration Certificate, if applicable
  • Caste certificate in the case of SC/ST candidates
  • Relevant ORIGINAL certificates in case of candidates who have availed bonus/weightage of marks (NSS/NCC/Ex-servicemen)
