Mother Teresa Women’s University, situated at Kodaikanal, is a women’s university which offers various undergraduate and post-graduate courses with reasonable fee structures.  It also monitors and offers consultancy services and research in Women's Studies.

The University invites applications for the post-graduate programmes for the academic year 2018-19, applications for which are usually supposed to be submitted by last week of May or first week of June. The post-graduate programmes are of two types, non-entrance based and entrance-based. For separate courses, you are required submit different applications.

M.Sc. is offered in following disciplines:

  • M.Sc. Foods & Nutrition/Food Service Management & Dietetics

Eligibility:

For M.Sc. Computer Science: You should have any graduation degree with Mathematics in 10 +2 level.

For M.Sc. Mathematics: You should have a graduation degree in Mathematics.

For M.Sc. Visual Communication: You should have a graduation degree in any discipline.

For M.Sc. Chemistry: You should be a graduate in B.Sc. Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry with Maths / Physics as allied with minimum 50% Marks.

For M.Sc. Fashion Designing & Garment Construction: You should have a graduation in Home Science / Costume Designing / Fashion Designing and Garment Construction with minimum 50% marks.

For M.Sc. Foods & Nutrition/Food Service Mgmt. & Dietetics: You should be a graduate in Home Science / Nutrition /Food Service Management / Food science & Nutrition / Clinical Nutrition with minimum 50% marks.

MA

Eligibility:

For M.A. Tamil: You should have a graduation degree in the relevant subjects. If you have studied Tamil as part I, then also you can apply.

For M.A. English & History: You should have a graduation degree in the relevant subject.

For M.A. Mass Communication & Journalism/Women’s Studies / Economics/Sociology / Master of Social Work /Tourism & Management: You should have a graduation degree in any discipline.

MCA

Eligibility:

For admission to regular MCA, you should possess a BCA / a bachelor’s Degree in Science (with subjects as Physics, Chemistry, Maths, IT Computer Science) or B.Com with Mathematics in +2 or UG level with 50% marks in TANCET / Entrance Examination conducted by the University for Admission

For admission through lateral entry: You should be a graduate in B.Sc. Computer Science / BCA / B.Sc. (IT) with at least 50% marks in aggregate

M.Com

Eligibility:

You should have a graduation degree with minimum 50% marks with Accountancy, Economics as allied / ancillary subject.

MBA/PGDM

Eligibility:

You should possess any graduation degree with minimum 50% +TANCET / Entrance Examination conducted by the University for Admission

M.Phil/Ph.D in Science , M.Phil/Ph.D in Commerce & M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts

You should have a post-graduate degree in the relevant subject with minimum 55% marks for general category students, 50% for SC/ST students


How to apply?

M.Sc , M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Com

You can either collect the Application form in person or by post from the University, or download the Application form from the University website and submit the duly filled in form before the last date of respective submission.

How to Apply Online

  1. Download the form from the University website, by clicking on the “Admission” tab and subsequently selecting “Downloads” from the drop-down menu. If you are applying for more than one programme, you will have to use separate application forms.
  2. After printing a copy of the Application form, fill the form in BLOCK LETTERS in your own handwriting.
  3. Make a DD equal to the respective registration fee, obtained from State Bank of India drawn in favour of “The Registrar, Mother Teresa Women’s University” payable at Kodaikanal. 4.
  4. You will need to mention your Name and the program applied for on the reverse side of the Demand Draft. If you are an SC/ST candidate, the application form will be issued free of cost by producing attested photocopy of the Permanent Community Certificate.
  5. Send the filled in application form along with Registration Fee addressed to:

Selection Process

M.Sc , M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Com

For Non-Entrance Programmes:

  • You will be selected on the basis of merit, based on your graduation marks.

For Entrance Programmes:

You will be selected on the basis of the score obtained in TANCET or an Entrance Examination conducted by the University.

  • (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) is the eligibility exam conducted by Anna University on the behalf of Govt. of Tamil Nadu. You can get the application form for this from Anna University and few other colleges.
  • TANCET 2018 will be held in May 2018 to which registration starts from April 2018.
  • The question paper will be an objective multiple-choice paper having three parts with Part 1 & 2 being compulsory and Part 3 as per the discipline chosen by you while filling the TANCET 2018 Application Form.
  • The questions will be set at undergraduate level. Part 1 & 2 will have 30 questions with 1 mark for each correct answer. For Part 3, you must answer 40 Questions in the chosen field with 1 mark for each correct answer. The exam has negative marking.
