Annamalai University B.Pharm and M.Pharm Admissions 2017

Founded in 1929, Annamalai University is the first private university and one of Asia's largest public residential universities located in India. The university is one of the first institutions in the country to offer courses of higher education in science, engineering, humanities, agriculture and arts. A pioneer in imparting quality education, it was taken over by the Tamil Nadu government in 2013 and has emerged as one of the largest public residential university with 10 faculties and 49 departments of study. The university also provides more than 500 courses through distance learning mode.

The university offers the following programmes through their respective faculties:

  • B. Pharm. – 60 seats
  • B.Sc. Nursing – 100 seats
  • B.P.T. – 30 seats
  • B.O.T. – 20 seats
  • M.Pharm. in 3 disciplines

Admission of candidates to UG programmes is based on their performance in the qualifying examination. Candidates will be shortlisted for M.Pharm. based on their performance in entrance examination and interview.

Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria can register themselves by downloading the concerned application form available at the university website. Completed applications should be submitted to the university office, along with the processing fee of Rs. 800/- to complete the registration process.

Eligibility Criteria

B.Pharm

The university offeres the following UG programmes through its respective faculties:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) - 4 years
  • Bachelor of Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) - 4 years
  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T.) - 4 ½ years including internship
  • Bachelor of Occupational therapy (B.O.T.) - 4 ½ years including internship

Common eligibility criteria for the candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu 

  • Candidates who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI and XII in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply without native certificate. Those who have completed their schooling from outside Tamil Nadu are also eligible to apply with native certificate.
  • Children of Central Government Employees are eligible to apply.
  • Children of all India service Tamil Nadu Cadre can also apply.
  • Children of employee in public or government sector for the past 5 years are eligible to apply with evidence like income tax return and PF Slip

Educational qualification eligibility

Candidates must have passed Higher secondary examination by Tamil Nadu state board with the following subjects:

For B.Pharm. programme:

  • Candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (OR) Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology with any other subject in 10+2.
  • Candidates must have completed 17 years of age before applying for admission to the programme.

For B.Sc. Nursing programme:

  • Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (OR) Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with any other subjects in 10+2.
  • Candidates must be above 17 years of age and less than 30 years at the time of applying for admission. For SC/ST/SCA candidate, maximum age is 35 years.

For B.P.T./B.O.T. programme:

  • Candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (OR) Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology with any other subject in 10+2.
  • Candidates must have completed 17 years of age before applying for admission to the programme.

Minimum eligibility marks

B.Pharm. programme:

For OC/BC/BCM/MBC and DNC candidates

Candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany and Zoology/ Mathematics with minimum 35% marks in above subjects.

For SC/SCA/ST candidates:

Candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany and Zoology/ Mathematics with minimum 35% marks in above subjects. It is mandatory for candidates to pass in English with 35% marks.

B.Sc. Nursing programme:

For OC/BC/BCM/MBC and DNC candidates:

Candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany and Zoology with minimum 35% of marks in above subjects. It is mandatory for candidates to pass in English with 35% marks.

For SC/SCA/ST programmes

Candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany and Zoology with minimum 35% of marks in above subjects. It is mandatory for candidates to pass in English with 35% marks.

B.P.T./B.O.T. Programme

Candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany and Zoology with minimum 35% of marks in above subjects.

M.Pharm

The university offers M.Pharm. programme in the following disciplines:

  • M.Pharm. (Industrial Pharmacy) 
  • M. Pharm. (Quality Assurance)
  • M. Pharm. (Pharmacology)

Eligibility:

Candidates should possess B.Pharm. Degree with minimum 50% of marks, of this University or any other University recognised as equivalent thereto by this University.. For SC/SCA/ST candidates, the eligibility is a pass in the B.Pharm. Degree Programme


How to Apply

Candidates can register themselves for the above mentioned courses through the online application process.

  • Candidate should log on to the official university website and fill the concerned application form to register for the B.Pharm./ M.Pharm programmes.
  • Upon filling-in all the relevant details, candidate will be allotted an online application number for future correspondence. 
  • Candidate should also submit a registration fee of Rs. 800/- (Rs. 1000/- for M.Pharm. programme) through demand draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favour of The Registrar, Annamalai University and payable at Chennai
  • Completed applications, along with the necessary enclosures and registration fee, should be downloaded and submitted either by speed / Registered post or in person to the following address:

Admission Process

Bachelor of Physiotherapy [BPT] , Bachelor of Pharmacy [B.Pharm] & Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Nursing)

Selection of the candidates will be done based on the rank obtained in merit list on the basis of marks scored in the science subjects in the qualifying examination.

M.Pharm

Selection of the candidates to M.Pharm programmes will be done on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination and interview, both conducted by the university.


Reservation Criteria

Seats will be reserved for candidates belonging to ST/SC/SCA/MBC/DNC//BC/ BCM/OC communities as per rules and regulations of the Government of Tamil Nadu
