Tamil Nadu MGR Medical University BAMS and BHMS Admission 2018

The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University (TNMGRMU) is a government medical university and is the 2nd largest health sciences university in India. The university has different departments which offer a multitude of medical courses at undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and doctoral level.

TNMGRMU offers UG and PG courses in Indian Medicine and Homeopathy to those who possess the relevant eligible degree. Admission to the above mentioned programmes is done through marks secured by the candidate in the university entrance examination.

The University offers the following UG and PG under the Faculty of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy:

UG Courses:

  • B.S.M.S Siddha
  • B.A.M.S Ayurveda
  • B.U.M.S Unani
  • B.H.M.S Homeopathy
  • B.N.Y.S Naturopathy and Yoga

PG Courses:

  • M.D. (Siddha) (in 6 disciplines)
  • M.D. (Homeopathy) (in 4 disciplines)
  • M.D. (Naturopathy & Yoga)

Candidates can register themselves through online application process upon submitting the prescribed application fee of Rs.1100/- and Rs.1400/- for UG and PG courses respectively, along with completed relevant original certificates.

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor of Siddha Medicine & Surgery [BSMS] , Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medical Sciences [BAMS] & Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery [BUMS] (Unani) (Kamil-E-Tibb-O-Jarahat)

Courses offered at UG level:

  1. Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery
  2. Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery
  3. Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery
  4. Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery
  5. Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Science

Eligibility:

  • Candidate must have studied physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Botany and Zoology in his/her 12 years study of Higher Secondary Course Examination.
  • Following is the required aggregate in Biology/ Botany and Zoology, Physics and chemistry together for candidates belonging to different category:

  • Candidate should have completed 17 years of age on or before getting admission to Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy UG courses.

M.D. (Naturopathy)

Courses offered in PG under M.D. Siddha:

  1. Siddha – Maruthuvam
  2. Siddha – Gunapadam
  3. Siddha – Sirappu Maruthuvam
  4. Siddha-Kuzhandai Maruthuvam
  5. Siddha – Noi Nada
  6. Siddha - Nanju Noolum Maruthuva Neethi Noolum

Eligibility: Candidate must have done qualification in B.S.M.S. or an equivalent qualification with one year of internship

Courses offered in PG under M.D. Homeopathy:

  1. Materia Medica
  2. Organon of Medicine with Homoeopathic Philosophy
  3. Paediatrics
  4. Medicine

Eligibility: Candidate must have done qualification in Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery or an equivalent qualification in Homoeopathy

Courses offered in PG under M.D. Naturopathy & Yoga:

Eligibility: Candidate must have done qualification in B.N.Y.S. Degree Examination and should have also completed one year of Internship


How to Apply

Bachelor of Siddha Medicine & Surgery [BSMS] , Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medical Sciences [BAMS] & Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery [BUMS] (Unani) (Kamil-E-Tibb-O-Jarahat)

For Indian candidates:

  • Candidates can fill the online application form available at the university website and submit it along with the required fee to complete the registration process
  • Candidate must submit the registration fee for application and eligibility certificate of Rs. 1100/- for UG courses and Rs. 1400/- for PG courses through online payment gateway. The application and eligibility certificate fee is non-refundable

For NRI candidates:

  • Candidates who have passed advanced level qualification and central board examination in foreign countries can also submit application and eligibility fee amount of Rs. 10,100/- through Demand Draft (DD) in favour of The Registrar, Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.
  • Candidate should be of Indian origin settled in foreign countries or should be born to parents of Indian origin in a foreign country. Candidate seeking admission under NRI quota must possess Indian passport

Enclosures for UG Programme:

  1. Higher Secondary School certificate Examination Statement of Marks (+2 Course or Equivalent Examination) Degree Certificate.
  2. Transfer Certificate

Enclosures for PG Programme:

  1. Qualifying Examination Degree / Provisional Certificate -II
  2. Completion of Internship Certificate
  3. Migration Certificate
  4. Higher Secondary Certificate or Equivalent Examination


Admission Process

Bachelor of Siddha Medicine & Surgery [BSMS] , Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medical Sciences [BAMS] & Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery [BUMS] (Unani) (Kamil-E-Tibb-O-Jarahat)

Selection of the candidates to the above mentioned UG and PG programmes will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination, conducted by the university.
