Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeswara (JSS) University MBBS and BDS Admissions 2018

JSS University  was established in 1954 which is currently running more than 300 institutions from primary to post graduate and research programmes in field of Medical Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Arts & Science, Law, Management, etc. Graduate and post graduate programmes of the university are recognized by Medical Council of India.

University offers under graduate (UG) programmes in various disciplines mentioned below:

Under graduate courses:

  • MBBS – (4½ years)
  • BDS – (4 years + 1 year of internship)

Admission to the above mentioned MBBS programmes is conducted through COMED – K UGET and for admission to BDS programme is through entrance exam conducted by the university.

COMEDK UGET 2018 abbreviated as “Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka under graduate entrance test” is an online computer based test which will be held at many centres across the country.

Candidates can register themselves through online application process. Upon submitting the prescribed application fees of Rs. 2000/- for MBBS programme and for BDS programme, candidates have to submit Rs. 1000/-.

Eligibility Criteria

MBBS

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 / PUC II / HSC or ICSE of any recognized board/university from school/college in India/Abroad after 12 years of study and last year study comprise Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject.
  • Candidates who belong to GC category must have passed the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually with minimum 50% (40% for SC/ST)s marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology taken together and also a pass in English language is required.
  • Candidates must have secured 50% (40% for SC/ST) in common entrance test COMED - K - UGET-2018.

BDS

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 / PUC II / HSC or ICSE of any recognized board/university from school/college in India/Abroad after 12 years of study and last year study comprise Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject.
  • Candidates who belong to GC category must have passed the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually with minimum 50% marks (40% for SC/ST) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology taken together and also a pass in English language is required.
  • Candidate must also secure 50% marks (40% for SC/ST) in common entrance test (JSS University Entrance Test – 2018).

Age limit eligibility

  • Candidates’ age should be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the MBBS and BDS course.


Application Process

MBBS & BDS

  1. Candidates can register themselves by download online application form through university website www.jssuni.edu.in and should send the application form along with processing fees of Rs.2000/- for MBBS and Rs. 1000/- for BDS through  DD in favour of JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT”, MYSURU payable at MYSURU.
  2. Candidates can also obtain application form and Brochure by sending application fee of Rs.200/- by way of DD in favour of JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT”, MYSURU payable at MYSURU.
  3. Attested copies of the following documents enclosed with application form in the following order:

Enclosures:

For MBBS:

  1. COMED K - UGET - 2015 Score
  2. COMED K - UGET - 2015 Rank card
  3. COMED K - UGET - 2015 Test Admission Ticket (TAT)
  4. S.S.L.C./Equivalent examination marks card.
  5. 10+ 2 mark sheet / II P.U.C./Equivalent examination marks card
  6. Marks cards of B.Sc.,/Equivalent examination of all the three years (in case of graduates)
  7. Conduct/Character and Transfer certificate issued by the college last studied.
  8. Date of birth certificate
  9. Caste / community certificate
  10. Transfer certificate for Karnataka board candidates
  11. Migration Certificate issued by the Board /University
  12. Six recent, identical passport-size colour photographs with name and date
  13. Eligibility certificate for foreign candidates.

For BDS:

  1. S.S.L.C./Equivalent examination marks card.
  2. 10+ 2 mark sheet / II P.U.C./Equivalent examination marks card
  3. Marks cards of B.Sc.,/Equivalent examination of all the three years (in case of graduates)
  4. Conduct/Character and Transfer certificate issued by the college last studied.
  5. Date of birth certificate
  6. Caste / community certificate
  7. Transfer certificate for Karnataka board candidates
  8. Migration Certificate issued by the Board /University

Selection Process

BDS & MBBS

Candidates are selected on the basis of marks obtained in the university entrance examination i.e. COMED - K - UGET-2018 for MBBS and entrance exam for BDS.


Reservation

For MBBS

  • 15% of total seats ar3e reserved for NRI / Foreign National/ PIO.
  • 5% of the seats are reserved for Institutional preference.

For BDS:         

  • 15% of total seats are reserved for NRI / Foreign National/ PIO.
  • 5% of the seats are reserved for Institutional preference.

80% of total seats will be admitted to BDS course in the constituent college of JSS University.


Notes

  • Application received after last date will be rejected.
  • Application form should be submitted as “Download Hard Copy” only.

Hostel

  • Hostel facility is available for both boys and girls and hostel fees is charged separately.
