Sastra University Law Admissions 2018

Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy, known as SASTRA University, is a deemed university which offers undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses in various streams such as Engineering, Science, Education, Management and Arts.

The School of Law at SASTRA University provides 3 distinct law programmes at the undergraduate level. Admissions to the 5-year Integrated law programmes is done through marks secured by the candidate in the entrance exam (CLAT 2018) and the aggregate marks of 10+2 examinations, following which the candidates are called for counselling.

The university provides the following law programmes at the undergraduate level:

  • B.A., LL.B (Hons.)
  • B.Com, LL.B (Hons.)
  • B.B.A., LL.B (Hons.)

Candidates who satisfy the eligibility can register themselves through online application process, submit the registration fee and appear for CLAT 2018.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Laws [B.A.L.L.B.] {Hons} , Bachelor of Commerce + Bachelor of Laws [BCom L.L.B.] {Hons.} & Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA] + Bachelor of Laws [L.L.B.] {Hons.}

    For admissions to the Five year Integrated law programmes, one should satisfy the following criteria:

    • The candidate should have passed 10+2 with a central/state board of examination with minimum 50% aggregate recognized by the discipline of study of SASTRA University
    • English should be a mandatory subject in 10+2 examinations.
    • The candidate should not be more than 19 years old as on July 1, 2017.


    How to Apply

    • Candidates can fill the online application form with the relevant details along with the photograph and signature within the size limits as permitted by the University
    • Candidates should also submit the registration fee of INR 650 through online mode of payment via debit/credit cards
    • The fee can also be submitted through demand draft (DD). For this, a DD of INR 650 has to be sent in favour of SASTRA, along with the print out of the form duly filled.


    Admission Process

    The students will be selected purely on the basis of CLAT 2018 scores and the aggregate of 10+2 marks as per the following weightage:

    • CLAT 2018 marks – 25%
    • 10+2 examination marks – 75%

    The university will generate a list of the selected candidates and intimate them for counselling session.


    Notes

    At the time of the counselling session, students should bring the following documents with them:

    1. Marksheets of 10 and 10+2
    2. Passing Certificate of 10+2
    3. Provisional Certificate
    4. Migration Certificate
    5. CLAT Score Card

    At the time of final admission, students should submit the following original documents:

    1. Marksheets of 10 and 10+2
    2. Passing Certificate of 10+2
    3. Provisional Certificate
    4. Migration Certificate

    Hostel Facilities: 14 hostels are provided by the university to boys and girls and messes are run on a dividing system
