UAS Bangalore B.Sc and B.Tech Admissions 2017

University of Agricultural Science, Bangalore (UAS) is an autonomous body which provides specialized undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) degree programmes in various branches of agricultural sciences. Currently, the university offers 9 programmes at UG level, 21 programmes at PG level and the research programme i.e. Ph.D. in 14 disciplines.

The university offers the following undergraduate level courses in various disciplines:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
  • Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.)

Eligible candidates can apply by submitting the prescribed application form along with the required processing fee through DD. Selection of general candidates will be done solely on the basis of their qualifying examination merit while the Agriculturist’s candidates have special quota and must appear for an entrance test to be conducted by the university.

How to Apply

B.Sc (Agriculture) & BE/B.Tech

  • Candidates can register for UG programme by downloading the concerned application form available on the official university website. Completed applications, in all respects, must be submitted to the university office along with the registration fee
  • Registration fee for General category students is Rs. 500/- whereas SC/ST/CAT-1 candidates should pay Rs. 250/- along to complete the application process. Fee must be paid through demand draft (DD) drawn in the favour of “The Comptroller, UAS, GKVK, Bangalore”


Selection Process

B.Sc (Agriculture) & BE/B.Tech

For B.Sc. courses:

  • General Candidates will be selected on basis of merit i.e. marks obtained in PCB in 2nd year of PUC or 12th standard.
  • Agriculturist’s quota students should appear for Practical Test consisting of 200 marks. Weightage for selection will consist of 50% marks of the entrance test and 50% of marks obtained in PCB in 2nd year of PUC or 12th standard.

For B.Tech. courses:

  • General Candidates will be selected on basis of merit i.e. marks obtained in PCM in 2nd year of PUC or 12th standard.
  • Agriculturist’s quota students will appear in Practical Test consisting 200 marks. Weightage for selection will consist of 50% marks of the entrance test and 50% of marks obtained in PCB in 2nd year of PUC or 12th standard.


Reservation Criteria

  • 23.8% seats are reserved for Agriculturist and Children of Agriculturist. These students are the ones whose household income is drawn from agriculture.
  • 76.2% seats are given to general quota which will also include seats for candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC category as notified by the Govt. of Karnataka.
  • 15% from the seats from general quota will be reserved for rural candidates belonging to the state of Karnataka and situated in smaller urban area or transitional areas as mentioned by the state govt.
  • 5% of the general seats are reserved for students who have studied 10 years from Kannada Medium.
  • 12% of the available general seats are reserved for the Special Category which includes:
  1. NCC Cadets
  2. Sports Quota
  3. Scouts and Guides
  4. Children of Defence Personnel
  5. Children of Ex-Servicemen
  6. Candidates with Physical Disabilities
  7. Candidates of Anglo-Indian Community


Notes

  • Merit Scholarship and Free Studentship is awarded to students according to the University Regulations and orders from the Govt.
  • Limited Financial Assistance shall be provided to needy students from the Student’s Aid Fund on account of the low income certificates submitted at the time of admission.
  • Hostel accommodation is available on the First-cum-First serve basis.
