UAS Bangalore M.Sc, M.Tech and MBA Admissions 2017

University of Agricultural Science, Bangalore (UAS) is one of the few universities in India which provides specialized undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) degree programmes in various branches of agricultural sciences. Currently, the university offers 9 programmes at UG level, 21 programmes at PG level and the research programme i.e. Ph.D. in 34 disciplines.

The university offers the following post graduate (PG) level programmes in various disciplines:

  • Master of Science (M.Sc.)  - (19 disciplines)
  • Master of Technology (M. Tech.)
  • Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.)

Admission to the abovementionedprogrammes is done through entrance test conducted by this university. Candidates can register themselves for admission to the PG programmes by submitting the completed applications, along with the required application fee through Demand Draft (DD).

ME/M.Tech

Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Processing & Food Engineering – (6 seats)

  • Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree in B.Tech. (Agril. Engg.)/ B.E.(Agri.)/ B.Tech. (Food Science & Technology)
  • Candidate should studied under (10+2+4) years pattern with minimum CGPA of 2.25/4.00 for GC candidates and 2.00/4.00 CGPA for SC/ST candidates.
  • Candidate should have studied minimum period of 7 academic years in any educational institutions in karnataka

MBA/PGDM

MBA in Agri. Business Management – (25 seats)

Eligibility:

  • Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/ Agricultural Marketing & cooperation/ Horticulture/ Sericulture/Forestry/ Agricultural Biotechnology / B.Tech. (Food Science &Tech.)/B.Tech. (Agri.Engg.) / Veterinary & Animal Sciences from Agricultural/Horticultural/Veterinary Universities
  • Candidate should studied under (10+2+4) years pattern with minimum CGPA of 2.25/4.00 for GC candidates and 2.00/4.00 CGPA for SC/ST candidates.
  • Candidate should have studied minimum period of 7 academic years in any educational institutions in karnataka

M.Sc

The course is offered in 19 disciplines:

1. Genetics & Plant Breeding – (14 seats)

2. Seed Science & Technology – (10 seats)

3. Crop Physiology – (10 seats)

4. Plant Biochemistry – (2 seats)

5. Plant Biotechnology – (10 seats)

All the 5 disciplines mentioned above have the same following eligibility criteria:

Eligibility:

  • Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree in Agriculture / Horticulture / Agri. Biotech. / Forestry / Sericulture.
  • Candidate should studied under (10+2+4) years pattern with minimum CGPA of 2.25/4.00 for GC candidates and 2.00/4.00 CGPA for SC/ST candidates.
  • Candidate should have studied minimum period of 7 academic years in any educational institutions in Karnataka

6. Agronomy – (14 seats)

17. Food Science & Nutrition – (6 seats)

Eligibility:

  • Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree in Rural Home Science/Agriculture/Horticulture/Sericulture/Forestry/ Agricultural Marketing & Co-operation / B.Tech. (Food Science & Technology)
  • Candidate should studied under (10+2+4) years pattern with minimum CGPA of 2.25/4.00 for GC candidates and 2.00/4.00 CGPA for SC/ST candidates.
  • Candidate should have studied minimum period of 7 academic years in any educational institutions in karnataka

18. Environmental Science – (6 seats)

Eligibility:

  • Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree in Forestry/ Agriculture/Horticulture/ Sericulture.
  • Candidate should studied under (10+2+4) years pattern with minimum CGPA of 2.25/4.00 for GC candidates and 2.00/4.00 CGPA for SC/ST candidates.
  • Candidate should have studied minimum period of 7 academic years in any educational institutions in karnataka

19. Horticulture – (10 seats)

Eligibility:

  • Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree in Forestry/ Agriculture/Horticulture/ Sericulture.
  • Candidate should studied under (10+2+4) years pattern with minimum CGPA of 2.25/4.00 for GC candidates and 2.00/4.00 CGPA for SC/ST candidates.
  • Candidate should have studied minimum period of 7 academic years in any educational institutions in karnataka


How to Apply

M.Sc (Agriculture) , M.Sc & ME/M.Tech

  • Candidates can register themselves by filling-in the online application forms available at the official university website and submitting it upon completion, along with the required application fee
  • Fee shall be paid through Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of “Comptroller, UAS, Bangalore” and payable at Bangalore. In addition to this, Rs. 300/- should be deposited in cash towards Group Health Insurance, at the time of counselling

Enclosures for Indian candidates:

  1. Caste/ Income certificate (if applicable)
  2. Mark card certificate
  3. Attested photo identity card.

Enclosures for NRI candidates:

  1. CV/ Bio-data
  2. Attested copies of educational documents.
  3. Valid passport
  4. Certificate of English language like ELTS/TOFEL.


Admission Process

M.Sc (Agriculture) , M.Sc & ME/M.Tech

  • Selection of the candidates for all the above mentioned PG programmes will be based on their qualifying examination merit and performance in the entrance test.

MBA/PGDM

Selection of the candidates for MBA programme will be based on their performance in group discussion and interview


Reservation Criteria

  • Reservation of seats for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/OBC category will be in  accordance with reservation policy stipulated by Government of Karnataka
  • If seats reserved for above mentioned categories are not filled due to non-availability candidates, they will be transferred to General Merit category
  • Seats shall be reserved in favour of NRI/Children’s of NRI/ NRI sponsored candidates not exceeding 2 students per department
  • Seats will be reserved for Teachers/Scientists/Officers of UAS University and for physically challenged candidates
  • 5 Seats will be reserved for sports and other activities candidates (2 for sports, 2 for cultural, 1 for NSS) for PG programmes


Notes

Scholarship:

Candidates shall be awarded University Resident Merit Scholarship of Rs. 1600/-per month during each academic year. It is mandatory for SC/ST students to apply for Government of India Scholarship.

Hostel:

University provide separate hostels for boys and girls, and international students. Hostel facility shall be provided on first-cum-first serve basis.
