Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth is an agricultural university located at Akola, Maharashtra. Since its establishment in 1969, it has continuously grown and empowered its student to work and contribute in varied fields of agricultural sciences. With over 20 post graduation courses and 6 Doctorate departments, the university also has 20 research stations providing quality education to students from all over the country.

The university offers various Post-Graduate courses in the field of agricultural, bio technology, engineering and management. Students will minimum 5.5 CGPA or equivalent in the qualifying degree examination are eligible to apply for the courses.

Admission of the candidates to the courses is done on the basis of Common Entrance Test, conducted by the Maharashtra Agriculture University Examination Board (MAUEB). Special seats are reserved for students who successfully clear the All India Common Entrance Test, held by India Council of Agriculture and Research.

Candidate can register themselves for admission by submitting online applications along with the processing fee of Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/- in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates).

Eligibility: Students applying for the above mentioned courses courses must possess degree in B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering). Candidate should have minimum 5.5 CGPA or equivalent score in the relevant Bachelor’s degree examination.

  • Candidate can download the prospectus and concerned application form available at the official MCAER website 
  • Upon successful submission of online forms, candidate should send its downloaded copy along with all the self-attested copies of his/her relevant documents to the following address:

  • In order to complete the application process, candidates must submit the registration fee of Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/- for reserved category candidates) through Challan in State Bank of India branches or through Debit Card, Credit Card and Net Banking. Candidates can also submit the fee by Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of ‘Financial Advisor, MCAER, Pune’

  12. Defence Personnel Certificate from Zilla Sainik Board
  13. ‘No-Objection Certificate’ from the Employer in case of In-service Candidate

Admission Process

ME/M.Tech , M.Sc & M.Sc (Agriculture)

  • Selection will be done on the basis of merit i.e. marks obtained in degree examination and the Common Entrance Test conducted by the Maharashtra Agriculture University Examination Board.
  • Common Entrance Test will carry 70% weightage and degree examination marks consists of 30% weightage in the selection process.


Reservation Criteria

Major Criteria:

  • 25% seats are to be filled by All India Common Entrance Exam held by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi.
  • 2% seats are allotted to students from Other States (OS).
  • After deducting the ICAR and OS seats, first 50% seats will be allotted to candidates who have a domicile of Maharashtra or School Leaving Certificate containing place of Maharashtra.
  • Rest of the 50% seats will be allotted to candidates who have domicile of Maharashtra School Leaving Certificate containing place of birth from Maharashtra or birth certificate issued by Maharashtra State and who have passed degree examination from Maharashtra Agricultural Universities.

Other Criteria:

  • 30% seats are reserved for Female candidates.
  • 19% seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes.
  • 13% seats are reserved for Schedule Caste.
  • 8% seats are reserved for Nomadic Tribes.
  • 7% seats are reserved for Schedule Tribes.
  • 6% seats are reserved for Agriculturist and Children of Agriculturist who possess minimum qualification or experience in Agriculture.
