Shivaji University PG Admission 2017

Master of Technology (M.Tech) and Master of Law (LL.M.) provide top notch knowledge about technology and law respectively. These courses are preferred by those students who are enthusiastic towards gaining knowledge in respective fields. Shivaji University provides M.Tech for which selection is made on the basis of valid GATE score. If seats remain vacant in M.Tech programme then, admission will be taken on the basis of an entrance test followed by interview. For M.Tech course, candidates are required to have done B. Tech/B.E. or M.Sc. in the relevant subject to meet the eligibility criteria. Admission to LL.M. programme is made on the basis of entrance test conducted by the University. Application form for LL.M. is available in the month of April, merit and further admission process is to be conducted in the month of June. Apart from the government regulations, university also has the provision to provide scholarship to deserving candidates.

Admission Eligibility

ME/M.Tech

Candidates are required to have done B.E./B.Tech from any recognised University in the relevant field are eligible for the M.Tech programme.

NOTE: If candidates hold a M.Sc. degree in the respective specialisation then, they such candidates are also eligible for the M.Tech programme.

Number of seats:

In each specialisation of M.Tech programme, there are 18 seats on which admission is to be made by the University.

Master of Laws [L.L.M.]

For LLM programme, candidates are required to have done 3 year LLB programme or 5 year integrated law course from any recognised University.

M.Pharm

Those candidates who have passed B.Pharm with 50% marks (45% for reserved category) are eligible for the programme.

How To Apply

ME/M.Tech

For M.Tech programme selection is made on the basis of GATE score. To apply for GATE candidates are required to visit http://www.gate.iisc.ernet.in/  and apply for the test. On the website, candidates are required to register themselves for applying the application form, after registration they will be provided with a unique user name and password helping in future.

Application fee is INR 750 for women and reserved category candidates and INR 1500 for other candidates.

M.Pharm

Candidates are required to visit www.mhtcet2017.co.in and select MHT CET 2017 Registration. There candidates are required to fill the required details and upload a recent colour photograph and signature. Candidates are required to enter a valid email id, mobile number and password. These three things are to be kept in record by the candidate for future use.

Candidates are required to take the print out of the bank challan and make payment to any of the SBI branch. Application fee is INR 800 for open category candidates and INR 600 for reserved category candidates.

NOTE: Candidates are required to pay INR 60 as bank commission.

After filling the application fee, candidates are required to print out a confirmation page from www.mhtcet2017.co.in. This confirmation page can be taken out after 24 hours of payment of fee through bank challan.

Once the notification for issue of admit card is released, candidates can download their admit card from the same website with their unique username and password.

User Facts:                                                        

  • The photograph and signature of candidates are to be of 50kb size, more than that is not acceptable.
  • Photograph is to be uploaded as photo.jpeg and signature as sign.jpeg
  • Photograph should be taken in white background.
  • Signature should be done on white paper with black pen.
  • Scan the signature in 200dpi (dots per inch)

NOTE: For applying to health sciences course candidates are required to be born on or before October 01, 1999.

Incomplete application form is subjected to rejection and no information regarding this will be forwarded to candidates by the authority.

LLM

Candidates are required to fill the application form on www.onlineshivajiuniversity.in. Application form is available online only. Entrance examination fee for each subject is INR 200 which is to be submitted in form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Finance and Accounts Officer, Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

The application form along with the Demand Draft is to be submitted to the concerned department either by post/courier or by person.

Candidates can also avail the copy of course directory by paying a sum of INR 100 to the University in form of cash or Demand Draft drawn in favour of Finance and Accounts Officer, Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

NOTE: If course directory is demanded through post then a sum of INR 30 extra is to be paid by the candidates.

User facts:

  • If candidates want to apply for more than one course, than they are required to fill different application forms.
  • If there are less than 10 candidates allotted to an examination centre then that centre is subjected to cancellation and information regarding this will be made available on the University website.
  • Applications are accepted after the last date of submission with a late fee of INR 100.
  • There is also a provision to accepted application form with super late fee of INR 500.


Admission Process

ME/M.Tech

Selection to M.Tech course is made on the basis of a valid GATE score. If seats are remained vacant in any specialisation of M.Tech programme then, an entrance test will be conducted by the University for selecting candidates. Those candidates who’ll qualify the entrance test are required to appear in an interview conducted by the University.

Scholarships:

Apart from the different schemes for scholarships provided by the government authorities, University has their own provision to provide scholarship to deserving candidates. 

University releases about 500 scholarships of INR 5000 and INR 10000 which is given to deserving candidates enrolled with the University under the scheme of Shivaji University Merit Scholarship Scheme (SUMS).

M.Pharm

For getting admission to M.Pharm programme candidates are required to appear for an entrance test. Paper basically contains multiple choice questions and has no choice i.e. all questions are to be answered. Candidates are required to enter the examination hall with the downloaded admit card and a valid photo ID proof.

The result for entrance test will be made available on www.dmer.org after that the further procedure for completing the admission is to be done.

A merit list will be released for those candidates who have qualified the examination.

NOTE:

  • Provisional answer key will be made available on dmer website.
  • The OMR sheet will be available to candidates on the website which can be accessed through their unique username and password.
  • In OMR sheet answers are to be made by darkening the bubbles with black ball pen only.
  • If candidates feel any issue in the question paper then they can submit their objection on www.mhtcet2017.co.in from May 25 to 27, 2017 (tentative).
  • If candidates want to verify their marks scored in the exams then, they are required to send an application in a self addressed envelope along with a Demand Draft of INR 1000 drawn in favour Commissionerate, State CET CELL, Mumbai, payable at Mumbai within 4 days of declaration of results.
  • After the declaration of results, candidates can view their answer sheet on dmer website by login to the site with their username and password.

LLM

Admissions are made on the basis of entrance test conducted by the University.

Centre for entrance test can be allotted in Kolhapur, Satara and Sangli. Candidates can select the test centre according to their convenience and the allotment of same depends upon the availability.

Once the merit list is released by the University candidates can apply for scrutinising the result, once the discrepancies (if any) is resolved by the University then a final merit list will be released and admissions are to made on that basis only. Those candidates who have got selected are required to appear to the concerned department along with the course fee to confirm their admission. 

User facts:

  • Candidates are required to appear with a valid ID proof along with the admit card to the examination centre, failing which candidates will not be allowed to appear in the exam.
  • Answers in the OMR sheet is to be made by black ball point pen only.
  • Merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance of candidates in the entrance test and qualifying exam. 50% weightage to both aspects will be given for preparing merit list.
