Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science (RGUHS) was established on 1st June 1996 at Bangalore by Govt. of Karnataka. It includes all the health science colleges and institutions in Karnataka with a purpose of ensuring proper and systematic instruction, teaching, training and research in modern and Indians systems of medicine.

University offers various courses having course level post graduate (PG) programmes in these course levels are discussed as following in various disciplines:

Post graduate courses:

  • M.Sc. in allied health science
  • M.Sc. nursing  
  • M. Pharm.
  • MPT
  • Pharm.D.

Admission to the above mentioned programmes is through merit in the qualifying examination or entrance test.

Candidates can register themselves by submitting examination fees of Rs.3000/- for GC and OBC category. For SC/ST candidates of Karnataka, examination fees is Rs.750.

M.Sc

Courses offered:

Programmes under M.Sc. in allied health science are as follows:

  1. Clinical Biochemistry
  2. Microbiology & Immunology
  3. Haematology & Blood Transfusion

Eligibility criteria of courses mentioned above is given below:

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed B.Sc. MLT Course from Institutions affiliated to RGUHS.
  • Candidates must have passed B.Sc. MLT Course from other universities or equivalent by affiliated to RGUHS.

 

M.Sc (Nursing)

Eligibility

  • Candidates should be Indian citizen.
  • Candidates should have born in Karnataka state.
  • Candidates must possess a degree in B.Sc. Nursing (Basic) or B.Sc. Hons. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. with minimum 55% aggregate marks for GC candidate and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates.
  • Candidates must possess minimum one year of experience after B.Sc. nursing in hospital or nursing institution.
  • Candidates should not have attained the age of 45 years on the last date fixed for submission of application to PG Degree Entrance Test.

M.Pharm

Programmes under M. Pharm. Are as follows:

  4. Pharmacognosy

  7. Pharmacy Practice

Eligibility criteria for the above mentioned courses is as follows:

Eligibility

  • Candidates should be Indian citizen.
  • Candidates should have born in Karnataka state.
  • Candidates must possess degree in B. Pharm. from RGUHS/ PCI/ AICTE institute with minimum 55% aggregate marks for GC candidate and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates.
  • Candidates who have completed industrial training on or before July 15, 2017 (tentative) are eligible for Entrance Test.
  • Candidates should not be the age of 45 years on the last date fixed for submission of application to PG Degree Entrance Test.

Master of Physiotherapy(MPT)

Eligibility

  • Candidates should be citizens of India.
  • Candidates’ birth place should be Karnataka.
  • Candidate must possess degree in B.Sc. (PT) or BPT from this university or any other recognized university with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
  • Candidates who have completed internship on or before submission of last date of application.
  • Candidates should not have attained the age of 45 years on the last date fixed for submission of application to PG Degree Entrance Test.

Pharm.D

Eligibility

  • Candidates should be Indian citizen.
  • Candidates should have born in Karnataka state.
  • Candidates must possess degree in B. Pharm. from RGUHS/ PCI/ AICTE institute with minimum 55% aggregate marks for GC candidate and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates.
  • Candidates who have completed industrial training on or beforeJuly 15, 2017 (tentative) are eligible for Entrance Test.
  • Candidates should not have attained the age of 45 years on the last date fixed for submission of application to PG Degree Entrance Test.


Application Process

M.Pharm , M.Sc (Nursing) & M.Sc

  1. Candidates can download application form online from the university website “www.rguhs.ac.in”.
  2. Candidates can submit filled application form in person or by post by submitting the amount of Rs. 3000/- for general category candidates and Rs. 750/- for SC/ST category candidates.
  3. Candidates must sent the attested documents to the following address:

Candidates have to submit photo copies of all the documents attested by Gazetted Officer along with the filled application form.

Enclosures:

  1. S.S.L.C. Marks Card (For age proof and parent’s name).
  2. Birth Certificate/Cumulative Record/any other certificate for proof of place of birth.
  3. B.Sc. (Nursing)/PC B.Sc. (Nursing)/B. Pharm./BPT Marks Card of all Phases/Years.
  4. Degree Certificate issued by the University
  5. Attempt Certificate issued by the Principal of concerned college
  6. Compulsory Rotatory Internship/Industrial Training Completion
  7. Council/Board Registration Certificate. B.Sc. (Nursing), PC B.Sc. Nursing / B. Pharma. / BPT.
  8. Professional Experience certificate in case of Nursing
  9. Domicile Certificate issued by the Tahasildar of Karnataka or Study Certificate from 1st to 10th Standard.
  10. Valid Income & Category Certificate obtained from the concerned Tahasildar of Karnataka, if reservation is claimed.
  11. Disability Certificate if claimed under Physically Handicapped quota
  12. Probationary declaration certificate (for in-service candidates)
  13. Certificate under article 371-J for claiming HK region reservation issued by the competent authority.

Enclosures for M.Sc.:

  1. Degree certificate issued by the university.
  2. Marks cards of all the university examinations passed.
  3. Migration certificate.
  4. Certificate of conduct.
  5. Proof of SC/ST or category


Selection Process

M.Pharm , M.Sc (Nursing) & M.Sc

  • Selection of the candidates will be based on the merit in the qualifying examination or interview conducted by the university admission committee.
  • Candidate should be Indian citizen.
