Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences BAMS and BHMS Admission 2017

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences is a public university which was established in 1986. University offers graduate and postgraduate degrees, diploma and super-specialty courses in modern medicine, dental surgery etc. Candidates can get admission to the BAMS and BHMS courses through AP EAMCET 2017 common entrance test conducted by the university. For admission to BUMS, the University conducts a separate entrance test.

A candidate must have passed 10+2 or intermediate level examination with Biology group subjects to be eligible for the BAMS, BHMS, BUMS programs. A candidate can apply to BAMS and BHMS program through APEAMCET application process. For admission to BUMS, the University conducts a separate application process.

The University begins the application process for BUMS by the end of August each year. For admission to the academic year 2017-18, the last date to fill application form is September 02, 2017 (tentative). The University will also conduct a separate entrance test for admission to the BUMS course on September 18, 2017 (tentative).

Eligibility Criteria

BAMS

  • Candidate should have passed 2 years intermediate examination with Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry as optional with 50% aggregate marks in group subjects. 
  • Candidate must pass any other examination of 10+2 pattern recognized by the university or Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh, with Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects. 
  • Candidate must pass intermediate (10+2) with Bridge course with Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry from this university or any other recognized university.

BUMS

  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 intermediate or equivalent examination with 50% aggregate marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology
  • The candidate must also have passed 10th standard with Urdu or Arabic or Persian language as a subject or must clear the test of Urdu in the entrance examination conducted by the University
  • Candidate must have studied Pre-Tib examination of one year duration and should also qualify entrance test conducted by university.
  • The candidate must complete the age of 17 years as on December 31, 2017 (tentative). The age will be calculated on the baiss of date of birth mentioned on the SSC examination certificate.
  • Candidates should be Indian Nationality or Persons of Indian Origin (P.I.O) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and should satisfy the local or non-local status in Andhra Pradesh

Bachelor of Naturopathy & Yoga Science

  • Candidate should have passed 2 years intermediate examination with Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry as optional with 50% aggregate marks in group subjects. or
  • Candidate must pass any other examination of 10+2 pattern recognized by the university or Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh, with Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects. or
  • Candidate must pass intermediate (10+2) with Bridge course with Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry from this university or any other recognized university.

BHMS

  • Candidate should have passed higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of twelve year study the last two years of study comprising of Physical, Chemistry, Biology with Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English at a level than core of English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.
  • Candidate should have passed intermediate examination in science with Physics, Chemistry and Biology which shall include a practical test in these subjects and also English as compulsory subject
  • Candidate should have passed pre- professional or pre medical examination with Physical, Chemistry and Biology, after passing either the higher secondary school examination, or the pre- university or an equivalent Examination, which shall include a practical test in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and also English as compulsory subject.
  • Candidate should have studied courses like Physical, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in these subjects in 1st year of degree and also passed 10+2 with English at a level not less than a core course.

Age limit:

  • Candidate should have completed 17 years of age on the December 31, 2017(tentative)
  • Candidate’s age should be calculated on the basis of date of birth indicated in the secondary school certificate.


Application Process

BUMS

  • Candidate can obtain application form available on the University website.
  • Candidate can pay the application fee of INR. 1050/- (for OC/BC) and INR. 850/- (for SC/ST category candidates) online, through Visa/Master Credit/Debit card. 
  • Candidate must send all the enclosures and print out of filled-in application form in person or by Registered post on or before September 04, 2017 (tentative) by 5:00 pm at the following address:

Enclosures:

  1. SSC or any equivalent examination showing date of birth and other particulars of the candidate.
  2. Memorandum of Marks of the qualifying examination making eligible for admission i.e. Intermediate or Equivalent Examination.
  3. Transfer Certificate
  4. Candidates claiming eligibility about local/non-local should furnish relevant certificates in support of their claim.
  5. Candidates who have studied in the state of Andhra Pradesh have to attach:
  • Study / bonafide certificate from VI to Intermediate shall be submitted.
  • A candidate who has studied in 2 or more institutions in various places in Andhra Pradesh, study / bonafide certificate from VI to Intermediate (Govt. / ZPH / Private School or College) in those places shall be submitted.
  • A candidate who has not studied a class in any school / institution, a residence certificate for that period only shall be submitted.
  • Candidates who have not studied in any school / college in the state of A.P., but resided in Andhra Pradesh with private study in Andhra Pradesh seven years residence certificate mentioning the period of residence preceding the qualifying examination (6th to Inter) by the candidate claiming eligibility as a local by virtue of residence shall be submitted. ‘
  1. Candidates who have studied in the institutions outside the state of Andhra Pradesh have to submit 10 years residence certificate of the either of the parents issued by MRO to claim seats under unreserved category.
  2. Certificate of social status in case of one who belongs to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribes or Backward Classes issued by an Officer prescribed.
  3. Candidate claiming eligibility of reservation under PH quota should furnish the required certificates in support their claim.
  4. Passport size photo of the candidate attested by a Gazetted Officer.

Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medical Sciences [BAMS] & Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery [BHMS]

  • Candidate must have to submit the application form through online mode only by visiting the website designed for AP EAMCET 2017.
  • Candidates can register themselves to the above mentioned courses by submitting the registration fee of INR.350/- by using any of the payment modes which are: AP ONLINE / E-Seva / MEE Seva.
  • Candidate must have to fill the application form and after filling the online application form candidate must have to verify all the details and press submit button.
  • Candidate must have to take the printout of filled in application form after affixing a recent colour passport size photograph duly attested by the Gazetted Officer or Principal of the College
  • Candidate must have to keep all the documents ready at the time of online submission of application form:
  1. Hall ticket Number of Qualifying Examination
  2. Hall ticket Number of S.S.C. or equivalent
  3. Date of Birth certificate
  4. Caste in case of SC/ST/BC candidates
  5. Aadhar card Number
  6. PH, NCC, Sports etc.
  7. Income Upto One Lakh or Up to Two Lakhs or More than Two Lakhs (Rupees)
  8. Study or Residence or relevant certificate for proof of local status (last 12 years)


Admission Process

BAMS & BHMS

  • Selection of the candidate to the above mentioned courses is done on the basis of AP EAMCET 2017 common entrance test conducted by the university.
  • Selection of the candidate will be made only from among the candidates who physically present themselves when called in order of merit.

Counselling process:

Counselling of candidate will be done in three phases which are as following:

  • In the first phase, OC (other category) seats will be filled
  • In the second phase, the reserved category candidates selected under OC category
  • In the third phase, selection and allotment of remaining seats reserved for the reserved category candidates
  • Candidates must have to submit the counselling fee of amount of Rs. 1500/- (for OC/BC) and Rs. 800/- (for SC/ST) category candidates to attend the counselling and counselling fee is non refundable.

Children of ex-servicemen are directed to bring the following original certificates at the time of counselling.

  1. Original discharge certificate of his/her parent.
  2. Original Identity Card of his/her parent issued by Zilla Sainik Welfare Officer of concerned District.
  3. Original Pension book of his/her parent if pensioner.
  4. Residential Certificates of the parent of the candidate issued by Mandal Revenue Officer.
  5. Certificates of Gallantry Award, Gazette Notification, copies of Part-II order and relevant documents if claims under Priority-I, Priority-II and Priority-III

Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery [BUMS] (Unani) (Kamil-E-Tibb-O-Jarahat)

The selection for admission to BUMS course is based on the performance in an Entrance Test conducted by the University. Candidates can download their admit card from the University website from September 13, 2017 (tentative) onwards. The entrance exam will be conducted on September 18, 2017 (tentative) from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Osmania Medical College, Koti, Hyderabad. 

The entrance test will be of objective type and will comprise of 150 questions. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. The test will have three sections:

  • Physics (50 questions)
  • Chemistry (50 questions)
  • Biology (50 questions)

For selection to the BUMS course, a candidate will have to obtain a minimum of 26% marks in the entrance examination. For SC/ST candidates there is no minimum qualifying percentage in the entrance examination. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks scored in the entrance examination. In case of two candidates scoring equal marks in the entrance test, preference will be given to those older in age. 

The University will conduct a separate counselling process based on the merit list prepared. 


Admission Reservation

Reservation for SC/ST category candidates:

  • 15% seats are reserved for the candidates belong to SC category and 6% seats are reserved for the candidates for ST category
  • If the seats reserved for ST category candidates are not filled then those seats will be filled by SC category candiates and vice versa.
  • If the SC/ST category candidates are not available to fill the seats then those seats will be filled by open category candidates.
  • Candidates of SC/ST category belongs to State of Telangana only shall be considered
