Kerala University B.Tech. & B. Arch. Admission 2017

Students who want to take admission in Kerala University’s technology & Architecture courses can apply for entrance test organized by Kerala state. Students can opt for any government or private college affiliated to University of KeralaKerala Engineering, Architecture & Medical Examination (KEAM) 2017 is the only way out for B. Tech aspiring students. This test has been conducted in month of April every year on different dates by Kerala state authorities.

  • Students must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or 12th Standard V.H.S.E., C.B.S.E., I.S.C. or any examination accepted by the university as equivalent with not less than 50% in Mathematics and 50% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/ Bio- technology/ Computer Science/ Biology collectively.
  • Students must have passed diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Education, Kerala or equivalent examination after undergoing an institutional course of at least three years securing a minimum of 50 % marks in the final diploma examination.

B.Arch

Duration: 5 years

Seat: 120

Eligibility:

  • Students looking for admission in B. Arch. course must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or 12th standard V.H.S.E, C.B.S.E, I.C.S.E or equivalent examination accepted with Mathematics as an optional subject and with not less than 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Or diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Education, Kerala or an examination after undergoing an institutional course of at least three years with minimum of 50% marks in the final diploma examination.
  •  Or International Baccalaureate Diploma, after ten years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.


How to Apply for B.Tech. & B.Arch. Courses

There is a separate selection process for B.Arch. & B.Tech. Course, which you can find below:

BE/B.Tech

You should apply for KEAM only through online mode on official website of CEE, Kerala. There are seven steps for online submission application. You should complete all steps and send a printout filled application form with necessary documents to CEE, Kerala on or before last date of form submission. Visit the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in and find the link “KEAM-2017 Online Application”.

Step 1 Candidate Registration: This is a one time process. You should fill all required details and click on submit button and after submission, an application number will be generated by system.

Step 2 Candidate Login: With the help of Application no and password, you can login and complete all other steps.

Step 3 Fill Application Form: Fill all basic details and you should click the ‘Save’ button to save the entries made so far before proceeding to Step 4.

Step 4 Final Submission of Application Form: This is also a onetime process. If you are sure that the information provided in step 3 is correct, click the link ‘Final Submission’. No correction of the application will be possible after final Submission of application in step 4.

Step 5 Payment of Application Fee: You can pay application fee through two following methods

  • Through Security Card: You can obtain security card from selected post offices in Kerala and other states, on payment of prescribed fee by cash. Security card is free of cost for ST candidates.
  • Through Demand Draft: You can pay application fee through Demand Draft (DD) drawn on a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank, in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

Application Fee:

  • For General Candidates: INR 1000/-
  • For SC Candidates: INR 500/-
  • For ST Candidates: No Application fee

Step 6 Printout of Application Form: You should take a printout of the online submitted application.

Step 7 Send the printout of Application: Affix a photograph of the applicant with 3.5 x 4.5 cm size same as the photograph uploaded on the online application duly attested by the Head of the Institution which you studied last or by a Gazetted Officer. You should affix the left hand thumb impression in the space provided in the printout of the application. The applicant and parent should sign in the specified areas on the printout of the application and attach supporting documents/certificates and send to following address:

B.Arch

  • Students looking for admission in Architecture course can apply in online mode from NATA 2017official website.
  •  
  • After navigating to the official address students will have to register themselves by providing their e-mail & password.
  • After registration students will have to fill the online application form by providing their basic details like name, qualification, photograph & signature.
  • After completion student can choose the option ‘Purchase the form’ for online or offline (through challan from any ICICI bank branch) fee payment of INR 1250.
  • After fee payment download the prefilled application form & take it to the nearest centre prescribed by NATA. They will give you an appointment voucher with respect to the availability of schedule of examination.


Admission Process for B.Tech & B.Arch. Courses

University of Kerala has different selection process for admission in Engineering & Architecture courses. Procedure for the same has been mentioned below:

BE/B.Tech

Colleges will be allotted to the students on the basis of their performance in KEAM 2017. As a part of selection process, KEAM qualified students have to attend the counselling session which will be organized by the Government of Kerala after announcement of result. Seats will be finalized only on the basis of choices made by you at the time of counselling & rank secured in KEAM.

Selected students will have to carry the seat allotment letter to the respective allotted college.

B.Arch

All Admissions to Architecture degree course shall be subject to passing of National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture. No lateral admission shall be permitted as per the minimum standards of Architectural Education Regulations 1983 of Council of Architecture and AICTE notification, July 1992.
