Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha UG Admission 2018

Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha is a deemed university which was established in 1956. The university was certified under UGC Act of section 3 in the field of higher learning in Sanskrit studies, Traditional Sastras and Sanskrit Teacher Education. It is also re-accredited by NAAC with A grade.

Universityoffers various under graduate (UG) programmes mentioned below:

Under graduate course:

  • Prak-Sastri
  • Sastri Sammanita – (3 years)
  • Sastri Vedabhashyam and Vedic Studies – (3 years)
  • B.A. Honours – (3 years)
  • B.Sc. (Sastri) – (3 years)
  • Siksha Sastri (B.Ed.)

Candidate can get admission to all the above mentioned courses through interview. Admission to Siksha Sastri (B.Ed.) course is based on CSSET-2018 entrance testconducted by the university. CSSET-2018 is abbreviation for “Combined Shiksha Shastri Entrance test”.

Candidates can register themselves to the above mentioned courses by submitting the application fee through DD of amount Rs. 200/-.

Eligibility

Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Shastri)

Prak-Sastri:

Eligibility

Candidate must have passed in one of the following examinations with minimum five or six papers and marks obtained should be 500 and above with English as one paper:

  • Candidate must have cleared S.S.C./CBSE/NOS course with or without Sanskrit and pass in ABHIJNA of Samskrita Bhasha Pracharini Sabha, Chittoor is also required.
  • Candidates must have cleared Purva Madhyama course of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi or Sampoornananda Sanskrit University, Varanasi
  • Candidates must have cleared Sanskrit Entrance Examination conducted by the Govt. of A.P with English
  • Candidates must have cleared any examination recognized as equivalent to X class with Sanskrit
  • Candidates must have obtained Veda Bhushan Certificate of Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Veda Vidya Pratishtan, Ujjain
  • Candidates who possess S.S.C without Sanskrit are also eligible to join the programme

Age limit eligibility

  • Candidates’ age should be 15 to 18 years as on 01-06-2018.
  • There is no upper age limit for female candidates.

Sastri Sammanita:

Eligibility

Candidate must have passed in any one of the following examinations in 10+2 pattern which are as below:

  • Candidate must have cleared Prak-Sastri course of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha , Tirupati or Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi
  • Candidate must have cleared Uttara Madhyama course of Sampoornananda Sanskrit University, Varanasi or Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi.
  • Candidate must have cleared Madhyama course of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
  • Candidate must have cleared Varishtopadhyaya course of Rajasthan Board of Intermediate Education, Ajmer
  • Candidate must have cleared Upasastri coure of Sree Jagannatha Sanskrit University, Puri or Kameshwar Singh Sanskrit University, Darbhanga
  • Candidate must have cleared Sahitya course of Karnataka State.
  • Candidate must have cleared Veda Vibhushan course of Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Sanskrit Vedavidya Pratishtan, Ujjain
  • Candidates must have cleared intermediate or equivalent examination with Sanskrit or Vichakshana of Samskrita Bhasha Pracharini Sabha, Chittoor, of + 2 stage in 10+2+3 Pattern conducted by a State Board/University/Institute recognized by Vidyapeetha

Age limit eligibility

Candidates’ age must be minimum of 17 years as on 01-06-2018

Sastri Vedabhashyam and Vedic Studies:

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed Samhita (Rigveda/ KrishnaYajurveda/Shukla Yajueveda/Samaveda & Atharvaveda) course and should have some knowledge of Sanskrit
  • Candidate must have passed 12th and knowledge of English is not compulsory.

Age limit eligibility

Candidates’ age must be minimum of 17 years as on 01-06-2018

B.A. Honours:

Eligibility

Candidate must have passed in any one of the following examinations in 10+2 pattern which are as below:

  • Candidate must have cleared Prak-Sastri course of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha , Tirupati or Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi

How To Apply

BA

  • Candidates can download application form and prospectus from university website “http://rsvidyapeetha.ac.in”
  • Candidates can also obtain the application form by post after submitting amount of Rs. 250/- by DD in favour of The Registrar, R.S.Vidyapeetha, Tirupati payable at Tirupati
  • Candidates have to submit their filled in application form along with prospectus in person by DD of amount Rs. 200 from any Nationalised bank drawn in favour of The Registrar, R.S.Vidyapeetha, Tirupati payable at Tirupati or challan in the Andhra Bank, R.S.Vidyapeetha branch, Tirupati
  • Incomplete applications received after the due date will be rejected
  • Candidate must attend the interview with original documents and 3 sets of photocopies of documents on specified date and time.
  • If the candidate is not present physically, the candidate will lose their seat.
  • Candidate admission will be confirmed after interview and written test conducted by the university.
  • Candidates must bring the following original documents at the time of interview which are as below:-
  1. Provisional/pass certificate of the last qualifying examination for admission.
  2. Marks obtained in each examination right from Matriculation/SSC/OSLC to the last qualifying examination.

Admission Process

BA

  • Selection of the candidates to the above mentioned courses is done on the basis of interview conducted by the university.
  • Selection of the candidates to the Siksha Sastri (B.Ed.) course is done through CSSET-2018 entrance test.


Reservation

Reseravtion of seats in the university is as per the exsisting norms of UGC or by government of India. Seats reservation in various categories are as follows:-

  • 15% seats are reserved for the SC candidates and 7½% seats are reserved for the ST category candidates.
  • 27% sets are reserved for the OBC category candidates.
  • 3% seats are reserved for the person with disability and few seats are also reserved for the children of the employees of the Vidyapeetha


Notes

Scholarship

  • 25 students from Prak-Sastri, 5 from each Sastra at Sastri level and 10 from each Sastra at Acharya level will be awarded Scholarship as per rules
  • Candidate will get scholarship on the basis of their percentage of marks in the last qualifying examination.
  • Scholarship will be given only for 10 months in a year.

Hostel

  • University provide 4 hostels for men candidates and separate 3 hostels for research candidates
  • University also provides separate hostel for women candidate.
