Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati, established in the year 1993, under the aegis of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, as a modern super specialty hospital, and was granted the status of a university in the year 1995 by an act of A.P. State legislature. The major objectives of SVIMS includes service, training and education in advanced medical sciences and technology. Latest technology in diagnostic wing and total computer automation of patient care has been implemented in this institution for the first time in our Country. 

SVIMS has been recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) since 2003 for conducting various DM, MCh and MD courses. Government of India has also included SVIMS as one of the institutions for the up-gradation at par with AIIMS, New Delhi under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.

The University invites applications from NRI and NRI Sponsored candidates for the Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Programme for the academic year 2017-18. The admission will be based on merit and the application process must be completed by September 30th, 2017.

Eligibility

MBBS

  • Common for both NRI/NRI sponsored category:

You must have passed the Intermediate examination (10+2 pattern) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology)/ Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) / Biotechnology at the qualifying examination.

Age: You should have completed 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.

  • For NRI category: You need to be the ward of an NRI belonging to Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana States.
  • For NRI sponsored: You should have blood relation to the sponsor who can be in the form of father, mother, brother or their children, sister or their children, maternal uncle or his children, maternal aunt or her children, paternal uncle or his children, paternal aunt or her children, maternal grandfather, maternal grandmother, paternal grandfather and paternal grandmother.


How To Apply

MBBS

You should download the Application Form from the University website.

You should take a print out of the Application form and then fill it with the required personal and educational details.

You should also affix a recent coloured passport size photograph in the space provided.

Application Fee: You should pay the following Application fee in the form of a Demand Draft (from any Nationalization Banks) drawn in favour of Secretary, BIE, A.P., Hyderabad

  • Rs. 500 in case you have studied in India.
  • Rs. 1000 in case you have studied abroad.

Enclosures: You should attach the following enclosures along with the Application:

  • Written / typed representation / application addressed to the Secretary, BIE, A.P. Hyderabad
  • Original Pass Certificates of 10th & 12th standard/class as the case may be.
  • Marks Memorandum list of 10th & 12th standard / class as the case may be.
  • Migration Certificate issued by the concerned Board.
  • Transfer certificate of School / College as the case may be.
  • Letter from the Indian Embassy – in case you have studied abroad

You should send the duly signed Application Form along with the required documents and the Demand Draft to Secretary, BIE, A.P. Hyderabad.


Admission Process

MBBS

You will be selected on the basis of merit i.e., on the basis of marks obtained in the 10+2 Examination. A separate merit lists will be prepared under NRI & NRI sponsored category.


Reservation

The statutory reservations will be applicable to the candidates of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward classes belonging to the State of Andhra Pradesh only.

  • Admission to 85% of the seats shall be reserved in favour of the local candidates in relation to S.V University region comprising the districts of Anantapur, Kurnool, Chittoor, Cuddapah and Nellore in the following distribution:

  • There shall be 3% reservation (horizontal basis) for differently-abled (PH) with locomotive disability of lower limbs between 50% - 70%.
  • 33.33% of seats are guaranteed for women candidates in each category i.e. open competition, SC, ST, BC and other reservations.
