Central University of Orissa M.A,M.Sc and MBA Admissions 2018

Established in 2009, Central University of Orissa is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) which imparts professional and non-professional education, research and training. It is one of the 15 new Central Universities established by the Government of India during the UGC XI Plan period.

The University offers the following postgraduate (PG) courses in various disciplines to its students every year:-

Post graduate course:-

  • M.A (in 7 disciplines) – (2 years)
  • M.Sc (in 3 disciplines) – (2 years)
  • MBA – (2 years)

Only candidates with the relevant qualification are eligible to apply for the above mentioned programmes. Candidates can register for admission by submitting completed applications along with the fee of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/ PwD candidates) through challan at any SBI branch.

Admission to the above programmes is done on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the entrance test conducted by the university. Candidates will be selected to the MBA programme through their performance in the entrance examination and GD/PI conducted by the university.

Eligibility

Master of Arts [MA] (Econometrics)

Candidate must possess graduation degree with Economics Honours/Major having minimum 50% aggregate marks from recognized university or must completed graduation in Commerce/ Statistics/ Mathematics/ Engineering or any other Social Science subjects with 55% aggregate marks from recognized university

Master of Arts [MA] (English)

  • Candidate must possess graduation degree with English as a subject at graduation level with minimum 50% aggregate marks from this university or any recognized university.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PwD candidates.

Master of Arts [MA] (Hindi)

  • Candidate must possess graduation degree with Hindi as a subject at graduation level with minimum 45% aggregate marks from this university or any recognized university.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PwD candidates.

Odia Eligibility :-

  • Candidate must possess graduation degree with Odia as a subject at graduation level with minimum 50% aggregate marks from this university or any recognized university.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PwD candidates.

Master of Arts [M.A.] (Journalism & Mass Communication)

  • Candidate must possess graduation degree with minimum 50% aggregate marks from this university or any recognized university.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PwD candidates.

Master of Arts [MA] (Sanskrit)

  • Candidate must possess graduation degree with Sanskrit as a subject at graduation level with minimum 50% aggregate marks from this university or any recognized university.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PwD candidates.

Master of Arts [MA] (Sociology)

  • Candidate must possess graduation degree with minimum 50% aggregate marks from this university or any recognized university.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PwD candidates.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Applied Statistics and Informatics)

  • Candidate must be Graduate in Arts/Science with Mathematics/Statistics as a subject with minimum 55% aggregate marks from recognized university
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PwD candidates.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Anthropology)

  • Candidate must be any graduate with minimum 55% marks or 50% aggregate marks for any arts graduation from a recognized university
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PwD candidates.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Biodiversity & Conservation)

  • Candidate must be Graduate with Major subject /Honours in branches like Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Forestry, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics at graduation level with minimum 55% aggregate marks from recognized university.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PwD candidates.

Master of Business Administration [MBA]

  • Candidate must be Graduate with minimum 60% aggregate marks from recognized university.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PwD candidates.

Age limit eligibility

Candidate age should not be more than 30 years.


How To Apply

MA & M.Sc

Online application forms:

  • Candidates can apply online by filling the concerned application form through the university website “www.cuo.ac.in”
  • Candidate must submit the processing fee amount Rs. 500/- (General/OBC candidates) and Rs. 250/- (for SC/ST/PwD candidates) through challan at any SBI branch (A/C No. 33105489656; IFSC Code: SBIN0000121, BRANCH: Koraput)
  • Upon completion of the online application process, candidates are required to send hard copy of the application form along with the university copy of challan through speed post at the following address:

Admission Process

MA & M.Sc

  • Selection of the candidate to the above mentioned PG courses is done on the basis of entrance examination conducted by the university
  • Candidates will be shortlisted for the MBA course on the basis of their marks secured in the entrance examination and group discussion (GD) or personal interview (PI)
