The Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) is a public Agricultural university in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh. It is the largest in India with an infrastructure of nine colleges, 58 research stations distributed in seven agro-climatic zones of the state, eight agricultural polytechnics, one horticultural polytechnic, one multipurpose polytechnic, 22 District Agricultural Advisory and Transfer of Technology Centres, 12 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (Farmer Science Centre), one Agricultural Technology and Information Centre and Electronic Media Wing apart from one Extension Education Institute and Agricultural Information and Communication Centre.

The University offers various Undergraduate degree courses of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in the faculties of Agriculture, and Home Science at its constituent colleges in A.P. State, the main campus being Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. The programmes will be for a duration of a minimum of 4 years and a maximum of 7 years.

The admission to the Programmes will be through the AP EAMCET(Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test) 2018 to be held on April 29th, 2018. The entire application process is online and application forms should be submitted online by April 27th, 2018

Eligibility

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Agriculture)

You should have passed in two year Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P. or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the University or Intermediate Board with the following subjects namely:

  • Physical Sciences
  • Biological or Natural Science

B.Sc. (Commercial Agriculture and Business Management) Programme

Eligibility Criteria:

You should have passed in two year Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P. or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the University or Intermediate Board with the following subjects namely

  • Physical Sciences
  • Biological or Natural Sciences or Mathematics

Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Agricultural Engineering)

You should have passed in two year Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P. or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the University or Intermediate Board with the following subjects namely:

  • Physical Sciences
  • Mathematics

Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Food Science)

You should have passed in two year Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P. or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the University or Intermediate Board with any two of the following subjects namely:

  • Mathematics or Biological or Natural Sciences
  • Physical Science

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Home Science)

You should have passed in two year Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P. or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the University or Intermediate Board with any two of the following subjects namely:

  • Physical Sciences
  • Biological or Natural Sciences
  • Mathematics

If you have passed in a Three year Diploma course in Home Science, you can also apply for admission into B.Sc. (Hons.) Home Science course under 10% supernumerary seats.


How To Apply

BE/B.Tech & B.Sc

For EAMCAT:

The Application has to be submitted through online mode only.

You should visit the website of AP EAMCET to fill in the Application Form.

You should fill the Application Form with the required personal and educational details.

Application Fee: This is the first step of the Registration Process. You should pay Rs.350 as Registration Fee and late fee (if applicable) by opting any of the following two modes of payment: (a) AP ONLINE (b) Debit / Credit Card.

After filling the Online Application Form with the required details, you must verify all the details carefully and then press the “Submit” button.

Subsequently, the filled in Online Application Form will be generated which contains Registration Number along with your filled in details.

Your Registration process is now complete.

You should then take a printout of Filled in Online Application Form. You will have to submit this to the Invigilator during the examination after affixing a recent colour passport size photograph duly attested by the Gazetted Officer or Principal of the College from where you have passed your qualifying examination.

You should save and use the Registration Number for future correspondence.


Admission Process

BE/B.Tech & B.Sc

For all courses except B.Sc. Home Science:-

You will be selected on the basis of AP EAMCET (Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test) 2018.

The paper consists of a total of 160 questions in the multiple choice question format. It is for a duration of 3 hours. It involves 80 questions on Mathematics, 40 questions each in Physics and Chemistry. You are required to answer all questions. Each correct answer is awarded with one mark and there is no negative marking for an incorrect answer. The syllabus will be based on the 10+2 qualifying examination syllabus. The detailed syllabus is given on the EAMCET website.

The medium for the exam will be English and Telugu. However, if you have studied the qualifying examination in Urdu medium and wish to avail assistance for translating the questions into Urdu, it will be allotted a Test Centre at Kurnool only.

You should be able to secure a minimum of 25% of the maximum marks considered for ranking to qualify the AP EAMCET-2018. However, you will not require any minimum qualifying marks if you belong to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category.

For B.Sc. Home Science:

You will be selected on the basis of merit.

  • Overall, 40% of the seats in B.Sc. (Ag.), B.Tech (Ag.), B.Sc. (CA&BM) and B.Tech. (Food Science & Technology) courses are reserved for candidates coming from families of Agriculturists actually engaged in and owning not less than 3 acres of land and who have studied for a minimum of 4 years in schools located in Non-Municipal areas.
  • The ICAR quota in the undergraduate programme will be of 15% of the seats.
