Gandhigram Rural Institute (GRI), Dindigul is deemed university in the state of Tamil Nadu, established to carry on Mahatma Gandhi’s revolutionary concept of ‘Nai Talim’. The institute is focused on providing education in the rural education and the courses are designed to work for the better of the rural education and rural industries.

GRI offers 4 undergraduate courses, 6 Postgraduate courses, 1 integrated course and 3 PG Diplomas in the fields of Arts, Education, Science, Engineering and Management. Admission to all the UG programs start around the end of higher secondary examinations in Tamil Nadu. 

Admission to the PG courses are made on the basis of entrance tests conducted by the institute.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for different courses offered by GRI has been explained below:

MBA/PGDM

  • MBA in Small Business Management

Eligibility Criteria:

  • One must be graduate is any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in Part-III of the degree to be eligible to take admission in the MBA program at GRI
  • Age Limit: 25 Years

MCA

Eligibility Criteria:

  • One must have obtained bachelor’s degree in the related discipline to be eligible for admission
  • Age Limit: 25 Years

MA

Eligibility Criteria:

  • For MA (Development Administration) (Integrated): Any candidate who has passed his/her higher secondary examinations is eligible
  • For other MA Programs: One who has obtained his/her graduation in the field related to the course he/she is applying to, are eligible to apply
  • Age Limit: 25 Years

M.Ed

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates needs to have passed B.Ed. Examinations with a minimum of 55% marks to be eligible for admission
  • Age Limit: 25 Years

M.Sc

How to apply?

MA , M.Ed & M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts

Application form along with the university prospectus can be obtained in any of the following ways:

  • Application can be downloaded from GRI’s official website.
  • By making a cash payment at the office of the Deputy Registrar of academics in person
  • By sending a written request mentioning the program that you’re seeking admission in and enclosing a crossed demand draft drawn in favor of ‘The Registrar, The Gandhigram Rural Institute- Deemed University’ and made payable in ‘Canara Bank, Gandhigram Rural Institute, Gandhigram (Code No. 8500) or State Bank of India, Ambathurai (Code No.3373) or any nationalized/scheduled bank in Dindigul’.

 

Application Fee:

Registration Fee for all Diploma/UG/PG Diploma/PG/M.Phil. Programs: Rs. 180 (Rs. 220 by post).

There is no registration fees for applicants belonging to SC/ST categories.


Admission Process

MA , M.Ed & M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts

Admission to all the Master/Post-graduation degree programs will be based on candidates’ performance in the entrance test conducted by the institute.
