North Bengal University is a UGC Recognized, AICTE Approved public university which was established in 1962. The university has 23 departments imparting professional / non-professional education, research and training to many students every year.

The university offers admission to the following degree programme: 

  • MBA (Master Of Business Administration) – 2 years

Only candidates with the relevant qualification can register for the above mentioned programmes. Admission to the MBA programme is done on the basis of merit of the candidates in the entrance examination (CAT/MAT/WBMAT/NBUMAT), followed by GD & PI.

Candidates can register for admission by filling-in the application form and submitting the required processing fee, on or before the last date.

Specializations: Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Marketing Management and Systems & operations Management.
Duration: 2 years
Intake capacity: 60 seats

Eligibility:

  • Candidate should have passed graduate degree after HSC examination/ 10+2+3  pattern from any recognized University
  • Candidate must appear and qualify NBU-MAT followed by group discussion and personal interview
  • Candidates who have WB JEMAT, CAT, MAT score are not required to appear in NBUMAT entrance exam. Selection of such candidates shall be based on their performance in GD & PI


How To Apply

MBA/PGDM

Candidates can apply for admission to MBA programme by filling-in and submitting completed applications within the stipulated time.

Application forms can be obtained upon payment of Rs.500/- in cash (Rs.600/- through post in Demand Draft). DD should be drawn in favour of "University of North Bengal" and payable at SBI, NBU Campus Branch (Code 2096). Applications can be obtained from the following university offices:

Candidates can also download the application form available at the official university website.  All fields in the application form should be correctly and completely filled-in with the relevant information.

Duly filled-in applications, along with supporting documents (and DD in case of downloaded application) must reach the Office of the Head, Department of Management, University of North Bengal within the stipulated time.

Candidate must keep the photo copies of the completed applications for subsequent use.

The candidate must send the photo affixed and duly signed application along with the copies of following documents:

  1. Transfer Certificate   
  2. Admit Card and Mark Sheet of 10th
  3. Qualifying degree examination
  4. HSC/CBSE/other equivalent mark sheet
  5. Community Certificate (For OC candidates community certificate not required)   
  6. Certificates for Special categories, if required     
  7. Nativity Certificate if required    
  8.  Date of Birth Certificate (SSC / ICSE / CBSE).
  9. Medical certificate
  10. Score card of WBMAT/CAT/MAT-if required Other relevant certificates.


Admission Process

MBA/PGDM

  • Candidate are selected on the basis of their performance in NBU-MAT entrance examination, followed by group discussion and personal interview.
  • Candidates who possess WB-JEMAT, CAT, MAT score are not required to appear in NBUMAT entrance exam. Selection of such candidates shall be based on their GD & PI scores


Reservation

  • General category: 50 seats
  • WBJEMAT candidates: 05 seats
  • SC Candidates: 11 seats
  • ST Candidates: 03 seats.

The University endows the following scholarships to its deserving candidates:

Hostel facility:

The university provides separate hostel facility for boys and girls.There are 4 hostel blocks for boys and 5 for girls.
