IP University MBBS and BDS Admissions 2018

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) was established with an objective to promote studies in the area of technical education. University has been awarded ‘A’ grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

In the field of medical education, the University offers both MBBS and BDS courses. Earlier the University conducted a separate entrance test for admission to the MBBS and BDS programs. However, after introduction of NEET exam, the University now takes admission to MBBS and BDS courses on the basis of marks scored in the NEET exam.

The eligibility for admission to MBBS and BDS course is the same as eligibility requirement for NEET exam, i.e., 10+2 or HSC examination with Biology as one of the main subjects of study. To apply for counselling procedure, candidates will have to fill an online application form available at the University website. 

The counselling procedure for admission to the 2018-19 academic session of MBBS and BDS courses will begin by the end of the month of August 2018.

Eligibility

MBBS & BDS

Both MBBS and BDS are of 4 years duration. The basic eligibility to apply for these courses is a 10+2 or equivalent degree in Science stream with Biology or Biotechnology as one of the main subjects from a recognized board of education. The candidates must also have scored a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2. Other eligibility requirements is explained below:

  • Candidates whose compartment result is declared at the time of admission are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have a valid score in NEET only are eligible to apply for the course.
  • Candidate must be medically fit.
  • Candidates should be Indian Citizen. Non-Resident Indians are not eligible to apply for admission.
  • Student’s age should not be more than 17 years as on December 31, 2017.
  • For SC/ST/OBC category candidates must obtain relaxation in age of 5 years.


How To Apply

BDS & MBBS

The application for Counselling process at IP Univesrity is an online process. The registration form for counselling process will be available online on the university website “www.ipu.ac.in”

There is an entrance test/counselling fees of INR 1000/-. Fees should be paid online through Net Banking /Credit Card and Debit Card or by cash in any branch of Indian Bank. Incomplete application form will be rejected and no request will be entertained afterwards.


Admission Process

BDS & MBBS

The selection for admission to MBBS and BDS courses at GGSIPU is based on the marks scored by a candidate in NEET examination. NEET, or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is a national-level exam conducted by CBSE for admission to undergraduate medical and dental colleges.

While registration, a candidate is required to provide their respective NEET exam details. Based on the score and rank in NEET exam, applicants are then called for a counselling session. The University conducts rank-wise counselling, hence it is important for candidates to get a good rank in NEET exam.

Selected candidates will go through medical examination by the medical board. Only those candidates will be admitted who are certified to be medically fit. If a candidate is found to be medically unfit then their selection will be rejected.

Counselling process:

  • Candidates will be called for counselling according to the order of rank in the merit list
  • Students must bring the original certificates and one set of photocopy duly attested by Gazetted Officer or from Principal of School last attended or self-attested.
  • To ensure the candidate’s eligibility the head of the institution again verifies the original documents and they shall be returned to the candidate.
  • Candidates who will be admitted during 1st counselling must report at the college within two working days of admission. If the candidate fails to report then admission of the candidate will be cancelled.
  • Candidates are advised to bring all the necessary documents at the time of counselling which are as following:
  1. Call letter of counselling (original and photocopy)
  2. Demand draft of admission fee (original and photocopy)
  3. Admit card or rank card
  4. Health strength document
  5. Original document of class 10th and 12th (2 photocopies)


Reservation

  • One seat for physically handicapped candidates will be filled on the basis of merit from any region.
  • Physically handicapped candidates are required to submit valid disability certificate from the Vocational Rehabilitation Centre
  • Catgeory wise different seats will be reserved for the candidates. There may be changes in the reservation of seats according to the Government of India.
