IP University PG Admissions 2017

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in Delhi, India, offers postgraduate courses of MJMC, MA, M.Sc, LL.M., M.Ed, MPT, MPH, MOT and PGMC. All the courses offered in the university are for a period of 2 years and the application forms will be made available by the university from January 30, 2017.

Interested candidates can get admission to the various programmes through Common Entrance Test or on the merit of qualifying degrees.  The entrance exam IPUCET-2017 will be held in offline mode.

The last date for submission of all the application forms is March 1, 2017. Students can apply for Post Graduate courses by submitting the application form online. Application forms should be obtained from the university website.

  1. Candidates looking for admissions must have done Graduation Degree in any discipline from the recognised University with 50% marks.
  2. Preference will be given to those candidates who have done graduation degree in English from reputed University.
MA in Mass Communication
  1. Candidates must possess bachelor’s degree in any discipline from recognised University with 50% marks.
  2. Preference will be given to the candidates who have studied Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Media from reputed University.
  3. Candidates having work experience in media related field are also eligible to apply.
  4. Candidate’s age should be below 30 years.
MA in CriminologyStudents looking for admission must possess Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from any UGC recognised university by securing at least 50% aggregate marks at the time of final examination.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Natural Resource Management)

Candidates should pass B.Sc. degree with Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Physics Sciences, Earth Science, Agriculture and Geography/ Economics background from reputed university with minimum aggregate 50% marks.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Forensic Sciences)

  • Students looking for admission must possess B.Sc. degree from any recognised university with at least 50% marks.
  • Those candidates can also apply who have studied 2 years or 3 years degree course with any two subjects out of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology, Genetics, Biotechnology and Anthropology)Or
  • Candidates must have done B.Sc. in Forensic Science with minimum 50% marks from recognised university.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Biodiversity & Conservation)

Students looking for admission must have done B.Sc. bachelor’s degree in Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Anthropology or any field of Life Sciences or equivalent from recognised university with 50% marks.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Environmental Management)

  • Candidates must possess B.Sc. graduation degree or equivalent degree with any of the subjects like Chemistry and Botany and Zoology and Microbiology and Biotechnology from the reputed university with at least aggregate 50% marks. Or
  • Those candidates are also eligible to apply who have studied B.Sc. (Engineering), B.Tech. or B.E in Civil/ Chemical or Agriculture Engineering degree with at least aggregate 50% marks from recognised university.

LLM

  • Candidate must possess LLB degree or an equivalent Law degree from foreign University with not less than 50% marks.
  • Candidates should clear the CLAT i.e. “Common Law Admission Test “entrance test can also apply for admission.
  • There is no age restriction for admission to the Master’s degree of Law.

M.Ed

Candidates who acquire Bachelor’s of Education degree can pursue Master’s degree in Education from the recognised university with 55% marks.

Master in Conservation

  • Those candidates can apply who have passed three years degree course in any subject of Humanities, Commerce or Science from the recognised university.
  • Candidates appearing for the 3rd year of final examination are also eligible to apply.
  • Students who graduate from an Indian or recognised Foreign University can apply.

Master of Physiotherapy(MPT)

  • Students looking for admission must possess Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) degree or 4 ½ duration from the recognised university with 50% marks. or
  • Those who have possess bachelor’s degree in Bachelor of Physiotherapy/B.Sc. (Physiotherapy) of 3 ½ duration including internship from the recognised university with aggregate 50% marks.

Master in Archaeology & Heritage Management [MAHM]

  • Candidates who have passed three years degree course in any subject of Humanities, Commerce or Science from the recognised university.
  • Candidates appearing for the 3rd year of final examination are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates graduate from a Foreign University can also apply for admission.

Master of Prosthetics and Orthotics

Candidates should have passed Bachelor of Prosthetics & Orthotics programme (BPO) from the recognised university with 50% aggregate marks.

Master in Occupational Therapy [MOT] (Musculoskeletal) & Master in Occupational Therapy [MOT] (Neurology)

  • Candidates should possess the degree in BOT or B.Sc. OT from the recognised university with minimum aggregate 50% marks.
  • Candidates must hold the degree in B.Sc. (Honours) or Diploma in Occupational Therapy from the reputed university.


How To Apply

MA , M.Ed & Master of Physiotherapy(MPT)

All the online mode applications will be issued from January 30, 2017. The online application submission method is explained below:

Online method:

Students can get the application form from the university website “www.ipu.ac.in”.

Students are advised to submit the application form along with common entrance test fees of INR 1000/- excluding processing charges and taxes. Fees should pay online through Net Banking /Credit Card and Debit Card or by cash payment in any branch of Indian Bank.

Separate application forms should be submitted for each programme. Incomplete application form will be rejected and no request will be entertained afterwards.

If documents found to be forged at the time of admission then university have rights to cancel the seat of the candidate. There will be no rounding-off for the percentage of marks of qualifying examination.

If candidate once submitted his/her details then they have to re-register in case they need to change any personal information. University can add or remove any programme from the list of the programmes.

IPU entrance exam is a university level examination which held every year. University will only display the ranks of those candidates who are qualified entrance test CET.

Candidates are advised to take the printout of CET application form as proof of application. Candidates should upload the filled in application forms and following enclosures through online mode only.

Final selection of the candidates is based on the counselling which are explained as below:

Counselling process except for PGMC

Counselling is a two-way process in the university i.e. offline and online counselling. Offline counselling is further divided into two categories i.e. first and second counselling. Both the counselling procedures are discussed as below:

First offline counselling

  • Counselling schedule will be displayed on the university website “www.ipu.ac.in” for the qualified candidates.
  • Candidates should attend the counselling on the scheduled date and time along with all the documents.
  • Counselling processing fees of amount INR 1000/- which is non-refundable should be submitted by the candidates to attend the counselling.
  • According to the rank in the merit list of examination candidates will be called for counselling along with the required documents for verification.
  • If the candidate fails to appear on the notified venue, time and date for counselling, then they should have no claim for the seat.
  • Candidates are advised to pay the fee immediately at the time of counselling otherwise seat will be allotted to the next candidate in the merit list.
  • Students should not be allowed to change the programme during first counselling but they can change the programme during second counselling by depositing the additional amount of INR 5000/- in the form of DD in favour of Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University payable at Delhi
  • University stops admission or counselling, once if the seats get filled up.
  • Conversion of the reserved seats for SC, ST, DEF, PH, Minority, etc. to General Category will be done only after the completion of last round of counselling for the reserved category.
  • Candidates are allowed to withdraw the admission in the first counselling by submitting the request at the following address:

  • If the request is received on or before the above-mentioned date and time of admission then the admission will be cancelled and fees will be refunded to the candidate after deduction of Rs. 1000/-.

Second offline counselling

  • Candidates are advised not to pay the second counselling processing fees if they already paid the first counselling fees and vice versa.
  • If candidates got admission in the first counselling then also they are advised to attend the second counselling if they want to change the programme on the basis of merit.
  • After the two rounds of counselling open house counselling will be held only if the seats remain vacant.
  • Counselling fee of INR 1000/- must be paid by all eligible candidates who participate in open house counselling.
  • Only CET qualified candidates will be considered for admission through management quota by producing original admit card for admission.
  • Rest of the counselling procedure remains same as of the first counselling.

Online counselling

  • All the details regarding counselling are available on the university website “www.ipu.ac.in”.
  • Candidates should read the conditions carefully before registering online for admission.
  • Candidates should apply early because the university will not be responsible for any network problems.
  • Candidates have to deposit non-refundable counselling fees of INR 1000/- through Net Banking /Credit Card and Debit Card or by cash payment in any branch of Indian Bank.
  • Candidates are advised to take the printout of the online fee confirmation receipt with the transaction details.
  • Once the seat allocate
  • on for the reserved category is done then the unfilled seats will be converted to the unreserved category in the last round of online counselling.
  • If any CET qualified candidate has not taken admission in the online counselling round then they are eligible to participate in the spot counselling against the available vacant seat.

PGMC counselling

PGMC counselling is of three types i.e. first, second, and third counselling which is discussed as below:

First counselling:

  • Candidates who have passed MBBS degree and possess rank in the merit list of entrance examination will be called for first counselling.
  • Seats will be allocated in the order of merit list and the conversion of the seat will be done during first counselling but if then also the seats remain vacant it will be converted as per the standard government procedure.
  • Candidates must bring original certificates along with the one set of photocopies duly attested by a Gazetted Officer or from Principal of School or self-attested at the time of counselling.

Second counselling:

  • Second counselling will be held in the university.
  • If candidates will be admitted during the first counselling and paid the fees in the university but did not join the college on the particular date then it will be considered as a vacant seat.

Third counselling:

  • All CET qualified candidates are allowed to participate in the third counselling.
  • 3rd counselling is the final counselling and there will not be any further counselling.
  • There will be no waiting list because after the third counselling the admission status will be admitted or not admitted

Candidates are advised to bring all the original and photocopy of the necessary documents which are as following:

  1. Call letter of counselling
  2. Demand draft of admission fee
  3. Admit card or rank card
  4. Health strength document
  5. Original document of class 10th and 12th (2 photocopies)


Reservation

Seats will be filled on the basis of rank in the merit list. All these candidates looking for admission should clear common entrance test.

Reservation process of PGMC programme

If seats reserved for candidates belong to SC/ST category remains unfilled due to the absence of eligible candidates then seats would be offered to another category i.e. seats of SC to ST and vice versa.
