Established in 1868, Ravenshaw University is one of the oldest universities in India and is located in Cuttack, Odisha.  Certified by UGC & NAAC with ‘A’ grade, the University has a total of 27 departments out of which 20 are post-graduate departments. At present, the university runs 23 postgraduate (PG) courses with research facilities and 27 undergraduate (UG) honours courses in addition with Ph.D. and M.Phil programme.

The universityoffers the following post graduate (PG) programmes in various disciplines to its students every year:

Post graduate course:

  • M.Sc. (6 disciplines)

  • M.A (12 disciplines)
  • MBA(Full-Time/Part-Time)
  • MCA

Only candidates with the relevant undergraduate degree are eligible to apply for the above mentioned PG courses. Selection of the candidates to the PG courses is done on the basis of their performance in the entrance test, conducted by the university. Candidates can register themselves for the above mentioned courses by submitting completed applications along with the processing fee of Rs. 200/- through online payment mode.

Eligibility Criteria

M.Sc

Applied Geography:

Candidates must possess a graduate degree with at least 50% aggregate of marks in the concerned subject from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

Biotechnology:

Candidate must possess honours degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry or any other subject relating to Life Sciences with minimum 50% of marks from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

Botany:

Candidate must possess any graduate degree with minimum 50% of marks in the concerned subject from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

Chemistry: 

Candidate must possess any graduate degree with minimum 50% of marks in the concerned subject from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

ETC: 

Candidate must possess honours degree in Electronics / IST/ ITM/ Computer Science/ IT/ Physics/ Mathematics or B.Tech. in Electronics/ Computer Science/ IT or Equivalent with minimum 50% of marks from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

Geology:

Candidate must possess any graduate degree with minimum 50% of marks in the concerned subject from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

ITM: 

Candidate must possess honours degree in Computer Science / ITM / IST or B.Tech in Computer Science/ IT / Electronics / BCA with minimum 50% of marks from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

JMC:  

Candidate must possess graduate degree in any discipline with minimum 50% of marks in honours or 50% in aggregate from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

Computer science:

Candidate must possess honours degree in Computer Science / ITM / IST or B.Tech in Computer Science/ IT / Electronics / BCA with minimum 50% of marks from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

Mathematics:

Candidate must possess any graduate degree with minimum 50% of marks in the concerned subject from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

Odia:

Candidate must possess any graduate degree with minimum 50% of marks in the concerned subject from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

Physics :

Candidate must possess any graduate degree with minimum 50% of marks in the concerned subject from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

Statistics:

Candidate must have studied either Statistics or Mathematics as a subject with minimum 50% mark in the undergraduate level from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

Zoology:

Candidate must possess any graduate degree with minimum 50% of marks in the concerned subject from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

M.Com

Candidate must have passed second class with minimum 50% of marks in B.Com honours from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

MA

Rural Development:

Candidate must possess graduate degree in any discipline with minimum 50% of marks in honours or 50% in aggregate from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

MBA/PGDM

MBA – (2 years):

Candidate must possess any graduate degree with minimum 50% of marks in the concerned subject from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

MBA (Part-Time):

Candidate must possess any graduate degree with minimum 50% of marks in the concerned subject from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.

MCA

MCA – (3 years):

Candidate must possess any graduate degree with minimum 50% of marks in the concerned subject from this university or any other recognized university. A relaxation of 5% in the marks will be given to the SC/ST candidates.


Application Process

  • Candidates must fill the online registration form available on the university website “https://eadmission.ravenshawuniversity.ac.in‟
  • Candidate must submit the concerned application fee of Rs. 200/- through online payment mode before submitting application online.
  • After submitting the online application form successfully, the candidate should take two printouts of application forms. One copy will be retained by the applicant and the other one will be submitted along with the copy of E-receipt

Note: Candidates are required to write “APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO PG COURSE IN SUBJECT” on the top of the A4 size envelope.

Enclosures to be submitted at the time of counselling/admission:

  1. All original certificates and documents in support of qualification (certificates and mark sheets), Reservation, weight age and College Leaving Certificate/ Transfer Certificate/ Migration Certificate.
  2. Mark sheet of the last qualifying examination.
  3. Blood Group Certificate
  4. Four recent stamp size photographs
  5. Demand Draft for admission fees as intimated by the university office
  6. For Ex-service men and family members, Discharge Certificate in original


Admission Process

Selection of the candidate to the above mentioned courses is done on the basis of the entrance test, conducted by the university.


Reservation

  • Reservation of seats is applicable only for candidates from odisha.
  • 5% seats are reserved for the kashmiri migrant candidates.
