Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) MD/MS/MDS Admission 2017

Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) invites candidates to join their various PG courses. MUHS is located in Nashik, Maharashtra. It was established on 3rd June 1998 by the Govt. of Maharashtra. The government created Admissions Regulating Authority and State Common Entrance Test Cell to conduct an entrance test to admit students for MD/MS/MDS courses. The test PGD-CET was formed for MDS course and PGM-CET was created for admissions to MD/MS courses. The admission is purely based on the rank obtained by the candidates in the merit list of these exams. The admission to M.Sc. Pharmaceutical Medicine is based on a separate test conducted by the University. The forms can be found on the university's website.

Examination: The Govt. Of Maharashtra has established "Admissions Regulating Authority and State Common Entrance Test Cell" to conduct PGM/PGD - CET for the selection of candidates for Postgraduate Medical and Dental courses.

The test will be conducted in 4 cities, namely Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and Aurangabad. The conduct of the examination will be English. The duration of PGM-CET will be hours long and will comprise of 300 multiple-choice questions. PGD-CET will be hours long with 100 multiple-choice questions. Each question will be of 1 mark. There will be NO negative marking.

Eligibility Criteria

MD , MS & MDS

  • The candidate should be a citizen of India.
  • The candidate should have passed his/her final exams in M.B.B.S./B.D.S. from a college situated in Maharashtra.
  • The candidate should have completed one year internship training on, or before 31st March (tentative).
  • Candidates who have completed M.B.B.S./B.D.S. from a foreign university are not eligible.
  • The candidates who have completed their M.B.B.S./B.D.S. from outside Maharashtra, but are a domicile of Maharashtra and selected in the 15% All India quota are eligible.

Master of Science (Pharmaceutical Medicine)

Duration: 2 years

Seats: 60

Fee: Rs.1,20,500/-

The candidate should have a degree in MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, B.Sc./M.Sc.(Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Pharmacology, Biotechnology), B.Pharm, or M.Pharm.


Application Process

MD , MS & MDS

  1. The brochure and application forms can be downloaded from the website www.dmer.org.
  2. The candidates have to fill the form online, after which a fee challan will be e-mailed to the candidate.
  3.  The candidate have to take a printout of the challan and pay the challan of Rs.3,000/- at any branch of bank.
  4. Then, the candidates have to go back to www.dmer.org and login with the username and password provided to them during filling the form.
  5. Candidates can then verify their forms and fill the challan details.
  6. No mailing of form or documents is required.
  7. The admit cards will be available on www.dmer.org after the specified date.

Master of Science (Pharmaceutical Medicine)

  2. Candidates have to print out the form and fill it, then post it along with a demand draft of Rs.600/- in favor of "Registrar, MUHS, Nashik" and the below mentioned documents to:

  • Nationality Certificate OR Valid Passport
  • SSC Board Certificate or Birth Certificate (Certificate of age)

  • Equivalence Certificate from A.I.U. for NRI (if applicable)
  • Physical fitness Certificate
  • Bonafide Certificate from Dean / Principal of the college (if applicable) OR Gap affidavit on stamp paper of Rs. 20/-
  • College leaving Certificate (Transfer Certificate)
  • Internship Completion Certificate (if applicable)
  • First to Final Year Degree Mark sheet & P.G. Degree Mark sheet (Mandatory) in case of candidates having P.G. Degree
  • Degree Certificate / Passing Certificate.
  • Registration Certificate from council (MMC, State Council, MCI, DCI, CCIM, CCH, PCI), (if applicable)
  • Certificate of additional Qualifications.

Examination: An entrance exam will be conducted in Nashik which would contain multiple-choice questions. The test will be based on the general knowledge related to health sciences. It will contain 50 questions with 2 marks each. There would be no negative marking.


Selection Process

MD , MS & MDS

The candidates will be selected on the merit list formed by the competent authority. The candidates have to score a minimum of 50% (40% for reserved categories) marks in PGM/PGD -CET to be eligible for the admission.

Master of Science (Pharmaceutical Medicine)

  1. The eligible candidates would be shortlisted according to the marks obtained by them in the entrance exam.
  2. The shortlisted candidates will, then, be called for an interview and counselling.
  3. The admission will only be final after all the documents are verified and the fees are paid.
