BRAOU Telangana B.Ed, BHM & BPR Admission 2018

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) is a UGC recognized university situated in Hyderabad which offers distance programs in various disciplines. The University conducts both audio and video lessons for its candidates enrolled in distance programs. The University also broadcasts audio lessons on All India Radio, and video lessons on Doordarshan Regional Channel thus increasing the accessibility of the programs.

In the field of Education, the university offers Bachelor course in Education, i.e. B.Ed. and B.Ed. in Special Education. The university also offers specialized courses targeting specific industries such as BHM and BPR.

The basic qualification required for admission to B.Ed. and BPR is graduate degree in any discipline. On the other hand the basic eligibility for BHM is Senior Secondary Certificate or 10+2 from a recognized board.

The application process for BRAOU distance programs begins in January every year. The application form for B.Ed., BHM, and BPR can be filled online through the official website of the university.

Eligibility Criteria

B.Ed

Duration - 2 years

  • Candidate should possess degree in BA/ B.Sc./ B.Com/ B.Sc. (Home Science) /BCA/BBM/BBA from any UGC recognized university with at least 50% marks.

                                                                                 OR

  • Candidate should have minimum 55% marks in B.E/B.Tech. for General candidates and 40% marks for SC/ST candidates
  • Candidate appearing for final year examination can also apply
  • Candidate should have a minimum 2 years teaching experience or Temporary teacher in any Primary/ Middle/ High School recognised by State/ Central/ Government / Union Territory
  • Candidate should be an Indian citizen
  • Candidate must be 21 years of age as on 1st July 2015. There is no upper age limit for B.Ed.

Programmes under B.Ed. (Special Education) course – (2½ years)

The University offers B.Ed. program in Special Education in the following area of specialization:

  1. Visual Impairment
  2. Mental Retardation
  3. Hearing Impairment

Eligibility

  • Candidate must be Indian citizen.
  • Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanities/Commerce with at least 50% marks for general candidates and 40% marks for SC/ST/BC/PH category candidates.
  • Candidates appearing for qualifying examination can also apply.
  • Candidate must be at least 21 years of age as on 1st July 2015. No upper age limit.

The University offers B.Ed. and B.Ed. in Special Education courses in the Mathematical, Physical, Biological, and Social Sciences. The stream-wise eligibility for B.Ed. is given below:

Mathematical ScienceBA/B.Sc. with Mathematics as one of the subjects BE/B.Tech. with Mathematics at 10+2 level
Physical ScienceB.Sc. with Physical Science (Physics and Chemistry) or Allied Material Sciences as one of the subject BE/B.Tech./BCA with Mathematics at 10+2 level
Biological ScienceB.Sc./B.Sc. (Home Science) with Botany or Zoology or Allied Life Sciences in part II BE/B.Tech./BCA with Biological Science at 10+2 level
Social ScienceBA/B.Com./BBA/BCA with Social Sciences at 10+2 level

BPR Courses:

  • Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree in any subject.
  • Preference will be given to the candidates who are PROs, Journalists, unit of State/Central Government, Advertising Agencies, etc

BHM

  • Candidate must have completed intermediate or equivalent qualification form a recognized board of education       

                                                            OR

  • Candidate must possess Polytechnic Diploma in any branch from any recognized university.

                                                            OR

  • Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university


How to Apply

The admission/application process is online. Candidates can fill application forms from the online portalm on the official website of the University. The admission prospectus can be downloaded from the University website or obtained from any of the designated study centres of the University.

The steps to complete application process is given below:

  • Visit the official website for BRAOU.
  • Click on the Online Portal tab on the home page.
  • Fill the application form with correct details and upload photograph and signature.
  • Pay application fee. Application fee can be paid online or offline at any AP Online Franchise Center. Application fee in case of online payment is 400 INR and application fee in case of offline payment is 435 INR.
  • Take a printout of the application form and payment receipt (in case of offline payment keep the student copy of the payment slip). Candidate will have to submit application form and payment slip at the time of admission.

Along with the application form, candidate will need to submit the following documents as well:

  1. NCTE recognised teacher education programme completion certificate for candidates applying to B.Ed. program.
  2. Degree Provisional Certificate and Year wise Marks Memos
  3. Date of Birth Certificate / SSC Certificate
  4. Service certificate as on date of the admission counselling.
  5. Integrated Caste Certificate, if applicable
  6. Medical Board Certificate (for PH candidates)
  7. Transfer Certificate
  8. Migration Certificate.
  9. Intermediate / 10+2 certificate.
  10. Study Certificates (IX to Degree) or Residence Certificate


Admission Process

The admission to B.Ed. and B.Ed. Special Education is based on the performance in Entrance test conducted by University. The entrance test for both the courses will be of 2 hours duration and will be conducted separately.

The entrance test for B.Ed. has three sections – General English Comprehension, Proficiency in Telugu, and General Mental Ability. There will be 100 questions of objective type with 1 marks each. Except for the General English section, the question paper will be in Telugu.

The entrance test for B.Ed. Special Education will have two sections – General English Comprehension, and General Mental Ability. There will be 100 objective questions of 1 marks each.


Reservation Process

BRAOU follows the reservation policy of Government of India or State Government, whichever applicable.
