KIIT University B. SC. & M.Sc. Nursing Admission 2018

KIIT University is not limited to the fields of technology and offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various other disciplines. The University offers both B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Nursing. B.Sc. Nursing is a 4 year program, while M.Sc. Nursing is a 2 year program.

The application process for both the courses begins in December. The application form can be obtained from the official website of the university. The selection of candidates for admission is through KIITEE, which is a university level entrance exam conducted for various courses.

For application to B.Sc. a candidate must have passed 10+2 in Science stream with Biology as one of the subjects. In case of M.Sc. Nursing, the candidate must have a B.Sc. degree in Nursing with relevant experience.

Eligibility Criteria

B.Sc (Nursing)

Duration of the course: 4 years

  • The candidates must have passed HSC/equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at least 45  percent aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for general category candidates and 40 percent aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for SC/ST candidates.
  • Lower age should be 17 years as on 31.12.17 & upper age limit should be maximum 35 years as on 31.12.17.
  • Candidate must qualify the entrance examination conducted by the university-KIITEE-2017.

M.Sc (Nursing)

Duration of the course: 2 years

  • The Candidate should be a Registered Nurse or Registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
  • The minimum education requirements shall be passing of B.Sc Nursing/B.Sc Hons.Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.(5% relaxation of marks for SC/ST candidates)
  • The Candidate should have undergone in B.Sc Nursing/B.Sc.Hons.Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing council.
  • Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc Nursing.
  • Candidate should be medically fit.
  • Candidate must qualify the entrance examination conducted by the university-KIITEE-2017.


How to Apply

Candidates must apply for admission by filling in and submitting completed online application before the last date. Candidate can obtain Admission Application Form by downloading from www.kiitee.ac.in.All fields of the application form should be correctly and completely filled-in with the relevant information.

Candidate should logon to the university website and follow the steps given below:

  1. Registration with necessary details and remember the self-created log-in ID and password for future log-in.
  2. Fill the application form with the required details
  3. Upload the scanned copy of  Recent passport sized coloured photograph of the candidate, Full signature of the candidate, Age proof (Admit Card of 10th standard examination) or birth certificate, Mark sheet/grade card of HSC  (for B. Sc Nursing )/ Mark sheet/grade card of B.Sc.Nursing( for M.Sc. Nursing ) and other relevant documents in support of the application
  4. Submit the application form online
  5. Candidate must keep the Xerox copy of the completed applications for subsequent use.


Admission Process

The selection will be done on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in the entrance examination conducted by the university followed by counselling. The entrance test for B.Sc. Nursing will have 40 objective questions from 10+2 level Biology syllabus. In case of M.Sc. Nursing, there will be 120 objective type questions from B.Sc. Nursing syllabus.

After the result declaration, the university will declare cutoff marks based on the number of vacant seats and applicants to the program. Candidates who score marks more than the cutoff marks will be called for counselling process. For the counselling session, candidates need to bring along the original and Xerox copies of the following documents:

  2. Community Certificate (For OC candidates community certificate not required)   
  3. Certificates for Special categories, if required      
  4. Nativity Certificate if required   
  5.  Date of Birth Certificate (SSC / ICSE / CBSE).
  6. Medical certificate
  7. Admit Card of KIITEE-2016.
  8. KIITEE rank card
  9. Admit card of 10th standard examination/ Birth certificate
  10. Mark sheet and certificate of 10th standard Board examination
  11. Mark sheet and certificate (if available) of 10+2 standard Board examination
  12. Mark sheet of qualifying degree
  13. Other relevant documents
