Allahabad University BA.LLB. Admission 2018

Established in 1887, University of Allahabad is a public central university situated at Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. Being the fourth oldest university in India, it currently offers bachelors, masters as well as doctoral degree in multiple streams such as arts, science, commerce, law, vocation, and computer application.

Candidates interested in Law courses can get admission to the BA.LLB programme upon clearing the entrance test, conducted by the Allahabad University in the month of May (tentative). Such students must have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized university with minimum 45% aggregate in marks.

Students seeking admission to BA.LLB can register through the online application process available at the official university website. The application process usually begins in the month of March every year and candidates can submit their forms until the first week of April. The candidates shortlisted in the university examination will be intimated for the counselling process.

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Laws [B.A.L.L.B.] {Hons}

  • Candidates should have passed an examination in 10+2 or 11+1 course under a recognized board of education or possess academic qualification recognized as equivalent to 10+2 or 11+1 by the Bar Council of India.
  • Candidates belonging to general category must secure 45% marksin aggregate in the qualifying examination. For OBC and SC/ST category candidates, the minimum required aggregate is 42% and 40%, respectively


How To Apply

Candidates seeking admission to the BA.LLB programmes can register through the online mode only by following the below given steps:

  1. Registration: Candidates should log on to the official university website, click on “Apply Online” link and select the desired programme
  2. Fill the Application Form: Candidates should fill the required fields in the application form such as name, address, centre address etc. and upload the scanned copy of candidate’s signature and photograph
  3. Fee Payment: Next, the candidate will be required to pay the application fee amount of INR 1200 (General candidates) and INR 600 (SC/ ST/ PH category candidates) which is non-refundable
  4. Make Payment: Application fees should be paid through Credit card/ Debit card/ Net banking of any bank. Candidates can also pay the fees through Challan from any branch of HDFC bank in India
  5. Application Form Submission: Candidates are advised to take the printout of filled in application form for future use and submit the application form along with bank challan via speed post at the following address:

Following is a list of necessary enclosures to be attached along with the completed application:

  1. Scanned images of coloured photograph and signature in JPG format only.
  2. The scanned image size should be 80KB maximum

Admission Process

  • Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination and merit list will be prepared according to the marks secured by candidates.
  • Candidates qualifying the entrance examination will be intimated for counselling process. Final selection of the candidate is done through counselling.

At the time of counselling process, candidates must bring the following document:

  1. Admit card of BA.LLB
  2. Original Transfer Certificate/ Migration Certificate
  3. Original High School & Intermediate mark sheet and certificate
  4. DD of INR 38000/- in favour of “Finance Officer, University of Allahabad” payable at Allahabad
  5. Caster Certificate
  6. Certificate of Weight age
  7. PH and sports certificate
  8. 4 passport size photographs


Reservation

The University of Allahabad reserves the seats for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) category in all subjects for which admission test has been conducted. Candidates can check the reservation criteria given below:

  • If the seats remain vacant for the candidates belonging to ST category, then those vacant seats will be adjusted with the seats reserved for candidates belonging to SC category.
  • If the seats reserved for SC candidates remain vacant because of non-availability of the candidates, then those vacant seats will not be reserved for General and OBC category.
