Bangalore Medical College (BMC) Admission 2017-18

The Bangalore Medical College is a private medical college affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka (RGUHS). This college offers various UG and PG courses on Medical Science and Nursing.

The college accepts admissions through the Karnataka Common Entrance Test for MBBS degree course. The Karnataka Common Entrance Test and Aptitude Test is being conducted for the purpose of determining the eligibility / merit, for admission of Karnataka candidates to the First year or First semester of full time courses in Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Unani, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy & Yoga, Engineering, Technology and Architecture courses, in institutions within the State of Karnataka.

For Undergraduate nursing and Postgraduate nursing courses, the selection is done via an entrance exams conducted by RGUHS.

For PG courses, candidates who have passed their MBBS degree can apply. The final selection will be done on the basis of two different exams:

  • 50% of the seats will be filled in through the State Entrance Examination which will be conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences
  • 50% of seats will be filled up by All India Entrance Examination conducted by Director General of Health Services.

Bangalore Medical College (BMC) MBBS Admission 2017 - Karnataka CET (KCET)

In order to seek MBBS admission to the Bangalore Medical College (BMC), the candidate needs to appear for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2017. Candidates from outside Karnataka can also appear for the Common Entrance Test.

85% of the candidates are selected from the Karnataka-CET exams and 15% of the candidates are selected through all India exams. 50% of seats are reserved for SC, ST and OBC’s

Key Points to be Noted:

  • Candidates should have passed two years of Pre-University Examination conducted by the Dept. of Pre-Uni. Education. The candidates shall have passed certain subjects like English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually and must also secure 50% marks in PCB
  • For admission to the MBBS course, one needs to complete 17 years of age by the Dec 31, 2017
  • Candidates seeking admission to this college for the MBBS degree course need to appear for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2017.

Bangalore Medical College (BMC) B.Sc. & M.Sc. Nursing Admission 2017

Bangalore Medical College (BMC) provides undergraduate nursing as well as postgraduate nursing. Admission to B.Sc. and M.Sc. Nursing courses are done through the Entrance Exam conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. Duration of the B.Sc. course is four years including internship while M.Sc. course comprises of 2 years.

For seeking admission to the B.Sc nursing course, candidates should have passed their 10+2 Examination conducted by Karnataka State with English as one of the subjects and Physics Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. Candidates should have passed all the above mentioned subjects individually and also needs to secure 45% marks in PCBE.

For taking admission to the M.Sc. nursing course, the candidate should have passed their B.Sc

Nursing (Basic) or B.Sc. Hons. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. in Nursing degree or Post Certificate B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka (RGUHS), or any other University located in Karnataka state, that is accepted as an equivalent by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka.

Points to be Noted:

  • SC/ST candidates should have a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.    
  • Candidate should have registered in State Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife
  • The Candidate should not have attained the age of 45 years on the last date fixed for submission of application to PG Degree Entrance Test.

Bangalore Medical College (BMC) MD, MS, DM & M.Ch Admission 2017

Bangalore Medical College offers several postgraduate courses in Doctor of Medicine (M.D), and Master of Surgery (M.S). It also provides super speciality courses like Doctor of Medicine (DM), and Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch).

  • For MD and MS, admissions are accepted through State Entrance Examination conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (50% seats) and All India Entrance Examination conducted by Director General of Health Services (50% seats).
  • For DM & M.Ch, admissions are accepted through Postgraduate entrance conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

MD courses consist of 40 different specializations, whereas M.S consists of six various specializations. M.D /M.S Degree Courses goes on for a period of 3 years consisting of 6 terms.

Bangalore Medical College Application Process

Application for MBBS and MD

Candidates will need to apply for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2017 by visiting the KEA Website.Candidates may also get the information brochure along with application through ‘Speed Post’, directly from the CET Cell by sending a demand draft for Rs. 650.

Application for B.Sc. and M.Sc. nursing, PG and Super Speciality courses

Application for admission to these three courses can be submitted online by visiting the official website of RGUHS. The candidate will then need to fill in all the details andpay the registration fee online using a debit or credit card.

The Registration Fee is Rs. 2,500 for General and OBC Category and Rs. 625 for SC/ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates. After that, a printout of the filled-in application need to be taken out and signed by the candidate. Finally, the candidate needs to send it to the university along with the required documents.
