no facility of placements & job opportunities
no. college is not provide internship.
I actually don't know about companies but like videocon and other law firms and corporate teams placed students from law faculty as their corporate lawyers and package depends according to skill of the students between 8 to 12 lakhs p.a and even some foreign companies also recruit for corporate lawyers.
No internship provided by college as it is law college students do by their own under various lawyers or companies in free time.
As mentioned above, there is a separate placement cell working under the guidance of a dedicated teacher which is improving with every academic year. The college traditionally acquires students who are more interested in judiciary & litigation but the last few years have seen various corporate firms coming to college for recruitment. Some of the names include HDFC bank, Hero, etc. The average package revolves around 4-6 lakhs per annum.
Yes, the college does provide student with opportunities of interning with all sorts of small and big firms. There is a dedicated cell for such activities which is improving with every academic year. As for first & second year students, paid internships are a rarity, final year students can find internships that pay up to 10K.
From our college, students are posted directly in district court, high court and supreme court. Every year many companies also come and students also have a choice to go in corporate sector and deal in corporate legal matters. Students also have a choice to persue as a private advocate in any court.
Yes our college provides internships also. Generally one can seek internship directly in a district court, high court or under any big lawyer or even under any justice of high court or district court. The stipend is not very high but can be helpful in managing daily needs of a student. The experience gained is very helpful in future as well as in studies.
Due course of regular seminars upon legal works and companies and via moot courts it is pretty much easier for its students to get their placement in big legal firms or companies.
Yes college provide internship. In fact it placement cell is very much active to grab big legal honchos to provide facility of internship to its students.
The Place and job opportunities were immense as being the city like Delhi. Many reputed law firm and senior advocates come to faculty to select the candidates apart from the corporate and leading companies.
The internship was done in Delhi Legal service authority, New Delhi on the subject of Plea bargaining under the inspiration of college support and assistance. At the end of the internship certificate was provided by the Delhi High Court Judge.
Placement and job opportunities depends individually on the academic record and internships experience of each students. many companies visit campus every year and select students as per their requirement.
Did many internships during my college time, though it was not a part of curriculum but gave a good base to my carrier. Working with a lawyer as an intern in itself is a good experience and equivalent of getting stipend.
You can apply itself in various law firms according to your interest in which field u want to go and campus placements also few firms are coming for recruit but it is quite tuff due all heavy strength of student in the college.
I did 3 months internship on different district courts and High Court of Delhi also.Stipend generally 3k to 5k paid by the lawyers or corporate law firms.
As mentioned previously we do not have a well functioning placement committee. Thus we haven't even been able to attract good firms. Even if the firms do come and offer us a job opportunity, many of the studentsdon't take it up, thus leading to a bad reputation for CLC.Wipro came to our campus & recruited 3 students offering a package of Rs. 10,00,000/- p.a.OAC, a leading law firm also recruited a few students.
Due to the name & prestige of our college, it hasn't been difficult in getting internships. However, the college doesn't have a robust placement mechanism. And every year hundreds of students have to look for internships on their own thus suffering if they do not have any contacts. Since Law students are a dime a dozen most of the firms or advocates either don't offer an stipend or offer a very low stipend.
There are not many companies visiting uptil now. But have heard about the replacement of placement officer and many new and reputed companies to be visiting in near future. The company I have knowledge that visited in 3-4 months span of my college are Clifford Chance, some Real Estate company. The highest package in past years is 8lacs p.a. and average is 4-5lacs p.a.
Being a fresher, I don't have any personal experience of internship. But yes I have heard from my seniors of doing internship under various firms,NGO's like amarchand and mangaldas, luthra and luthra,ek pahal, Delhi legal service authority, etc. And these internships are not provided by college, students by themselves make efforts for them. For initial internship ,hardly they get paid, but later on after experience stipend is under 10k or above it depending upon work.
