The fee structure is you have to pay semester wise. It is feasible. About 60-70k per semester. For NRI students they have to pay for the entire year. which is 5-7lacs per year. Students have to pay for their own material which is the only added cost of the course.
The course curriculum is very vast and requires regular hard work from the students. It molds you in a way to think like a designer and also enhances your personality through interaction and presentation. A lot of attention is payed to detailed work and the curriculum is one of the best i have seen anywhere in the design field.
Fee I would say was towards the higher side considering it is a government aided college. It used to come up to around 60-65 thousand per semester which is around 5 lakhs for 4 years. Apart from which you have to buy a lot of material as it is a design college.
Considering it is the only institute offering this course in India, there is none to compare. But the subjects thought are diverse, starting from general introduction to art and yarns in the start to moving on to fabrics and then to production.
We passed out in the old fee structure which was quite low as per course standards. But our junior batches had to pay almost 3 times our fees. That was still less than any course provided by private fashion institiutes.
The curriculum was up to date and wonderful in terms of imparting Apparel concepts in the most simplistic manner. Irrespective of ones background it gave a equal platform of everybody to learn from scratch.
Fees were Ok, Students are given inputs that cover fashion design aspects such as Design process, Design Development and Design Research. Students are equipped with latest technology.
It was mix of theory, technical & practical curriculum refers to the lessons and academic content taught in a school or in a specific course or program. In college, curriculum is often defined as the courses offered by technical education.
The fees is paid for every semester on the expensive side only as NIFT is the best of its kind in Design Colleges in India. Also there is good expenditure to buy course material every semester.
The first year is common for all design courses where we are taught the various skills in art like sketch, illustrations how to handle various materials like wood, plastic, plaster of paris. The fundamentals of design are taught. Second year onwards the specialization for the respective courses start with internship at the end of 3rd year design collection project in final year which ends with a show.
Earlier it was not that expensive but now a days its 60k per semester i am not sure about current fee structure but you can visit the site for the same.
