MICA (formerly known as Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad), is the only residential institute in the country dedicated to creating Leadership in Strategic Marketing and Communication.
MICA offers Post Graduate Diploma in Management - Communications (PGDM-C) and Fellowship Programme in Management Communications and Fellowship Programme in Management - Communications (FPM-C). The duration for the PGDMC programme is two years and the duration for the FPM is three years.
Admission to the PGDMC course is done through MICAT (entrance test conducted by MICA) followed by Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. The procedure for admission to FPM is classified in two different stages. The first stage includes a Telephonic Interview and the second stage consists of a 3-day selection process conducted at MICA’s campus.

MICA offers Post Graduate Diploma courses in Management- Communications under five different specializations. All these courses are for a duration of two years.
The candidates to be eligible for these courses must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline and should have a valid CAT / XAT / GMAT score. The eligible candidates need to register for the entrance test (MICAT) conducted by MICA. The application procedure for these courses start in the month of September.

MICA also offers Fellowship Programmes in Management Communications under four different specialization. The duration of such programmes is three years.
The stipend amount is Rs 25,000, Rs 27,000 and Rs 30,000 per month for first, second and third year respectively. In addition to the stipend, a contingency grant of Rs. 25,000 in the first year and Rs. 30,000 in each of the second and the third years will be available to the students for academic expenses.
The selection procedure for these programmes is divided into two stages:
|FPM-(C)||Communication and Media||An applicant must have a two-year UGC / AIU / AICTE approved Master’s Degree / equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in any discipline of the Humanities / Social Sciences / Business Management having Communication / Journalism / Advertising / Media / Public Relations / Marketing as a subject. He / She also should have completed a three-year Bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification after completing higher secondary (10+2) or equivalent education||3 years|

I didn’t took any entrance exam.
After taking CAT in 2011 and getting the required cut-off for MICA, I applied for MICAT. MICAT is a combination of Aptitude & Creativity tests, which included Groups Exercises, Personal Interviews and more. CAT and MICAT i had a marketing and communication background and wanted to pursue that as my career.
