The placement record at the end of the course is formidable as more than 90% of the total students who sat for placements were placed with great packages. The students, as in every Law School in the country, are placed off campus with companies they previously have interned with, but the students that do sit for placements have got good packages and our college has a good placement record.
The Career Development and Placement Cell of our college is growing year by year. My college does help us with the internships by giving us the names and contact details of the companies willing to hire the students. The overall experience has been smooth and the students have been happy with the college and it's help.
The placements are in lieu with the placements of the top government colleges over the country. The packages average around 10 lakhs. The CDPD dept. every year brings the top law firms to the campus for placements. The placements details are released by the college regularly on the college website.
There is CDPD dept. which looks after the internship and placements matter. They are quite efficient and have been providing students with really good internship opportunities. Apart from that there are many research centres and cells which employ students for research work as well as ground work.
From my batch 5 people have been placed so far, at the law firm Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. Among seniors, this firm and other firms such as Nishith Desai Associates, Lex Favios, Luthra & Luthra, AZB & Partners had come to campus to place them. Packages vary between 12 to 16 lacs an annum depending on the firm.
Some law firms and organisations offered internships to students. Major international law firms such as White & Case and Baker & McKenzie, domestic law firms like AZB Partners & Co, Amarchand Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff & Co, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan offered internships. Organisations such as Deloitte India and Jindal Steel Works offered internships too. I mostly interned under High court and trial court advocates who did not provide stipends.
