Eligibility criteria to get admission in M.Tech. Energy engineering in colleges like Thapar University, Patiala, Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, Koneru Lakshmaiah University, Guntur, Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore is minimum 55% in aggregate in B.Tech. or equivalent.
Admission in M.Tech. Energy Engineering is given on the basis of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering and personal interview in colleges like National Institute of Technology, Thiruchirappalli, IIT, New Delhi, National Institute of Technology, Kozhikode, National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur, National Institute of Technology, Agartala. However, IIT B.Tech. degree holders having a CGPA of 8.0 or more gets exempted from giving GATE and just have to face the interview.
GATE: This all India level exam is conducted for admissions to various Post-graduation Engineering courses in India. Its score becomes the basis. The online Examination happens usually between January 30th and February 7th.
After considering GATE score of candidates, selected candidates are called for counselling process and personal interviews thereafter.
