Jawaharlal Nehru University M.Phil./Ph.D. Eligibility:

M.Phil. /Ph.D. International Politics, Organization and Disarmament, South Asian Studies, Centre for Indo-Pacific Studies and Centre for Inner Asian Studies, Japanese & Korean Studies, West Asian Studies, African Studies, Canadian, United States & Latin American Studies, European Studies and Russian & Central Asian Studies:

Post-graduation in Political Science, History, Economics, Geography, Sociology, Defence/ Strategic Studies, International Relations and Area Studies with 50% marks or in Arts and other Social Sciences with 60% marks or in Natural Sciences with 65% marks.

M.Phil. /Ph.D. International Legal Studies:

LL.B. (Three Year) after Graduation with 55% marks or an LL.B. (Five year) degree with at least 55% marks in the aggregate or an M.A. with 55% marks with International Law as one of the subjects aggregate or an LL.M. degree with 50% marks in the aggregate

M.Phil. /Ph.D. International Trade & Development:

Post-graduation in Economics with 50% marks and familiarity with Mathematics and Statistics upto Graduation

M.Phil. /Ph.D. Canadian and Latin American Studies:

Post-graduation in History, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Defence/Strategic Studies, International Relations and other allied subject in Social Sciences and Humanities with 50% marks  or in Natural Science 60% marks

M.Phil. /Ph.D. US Studies:

Pre-Ph.D./Ph.D. in Physical Sciences:

M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics with 55% marks. Students with Physics or Chemistry as a majored subject should have h Mathematics at least up to the B.Sc. level. Exceptions can be made in case of applicants with B.Tech. (Electronics/Electrical) degrees provided they successfully qualify the entrance examination.

Pre-Ph.D./Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences:

M.Sc. in Physics or Chemistry with 55% marks. Students with Physics or Chemistry as a majored subject then they should have h Mathematics at least up to the B.Sc. level. Exceptions can be made in case of applicants with B.Tech. (Electronics/Electrical) degrees provided they successfully qualify the entrance examination

Pre-Ph.D./Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences:

M.Sc. in Mathematics with 55% marks

Pre-Ph.D./Ph.D. in Computational Biology And Bioinformatics Eligibility:

Post-graduation with 55% marks in any branch of Sciences such as Biology, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science/MCA. or in MBBS or BHMS or in B.Tech/B.E. or B.Pharma. Candidates should have Mathematics as a subject as a compulsory in 10+2.

Jawaharlal Nehru University M.Phil./Ph.D. Application Procedure:

Candidates can apply in either Online or Offline mode. The application fee is INR 500. The last date to apply Online is March 20, 2015 and last date to receive Offline applications is March 25, 2015.

Online Application — Candidates can apply online by visiting official website by paying the application fee. Below is the procedure to apply Online

  • Step -1 Registration — Candidate have to visit the official website and register with basic details
  • Step — 2 Upload Image — After registration, candidates has to upload his/her photograph and signature in JPG format. The size of photograph should be of 150X200) and size less than 50 KB. Signature size should be less than 20 KB and size should be of 60X40
  • Step — 3 Fee Payment – Application fee can be paid through Credit Card or Debit Card/ Internet Banking/Cash Payment at SBI Branch.
  • Step — 4 Submit Application Form — Candidate has to submit the application form and also take print out of the confirmation page for future purpose.

Offline Application — Application form along prospectus can be obtained through post by sending Demand Draft to:
