    PLACEMENT WING

As you know, this department is research oriented, people prefer for higher studies,so,placement in biotechnology department is not too good as many students pursue for higher studies and rest of them go for non core things like coding, data analytics.

    COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

Course curriculum of Biotech is very good. it starts with basic biology like microbiology, cell biology and biochemistry. We also have some syllabus of maths like differential calculus , probability and statistics. Overall, curriculum is quite good and interesting. Scope of biotechnology in Research field is too much. People who are interested in this branch can do lot good.

    INTERNSHIPS OPPORTUNITIES

Since, I am in first year, so I haven't have any experience of internship till now. But, my seniors who are doing projects with professors told us that professors are very cooperative but some of them are very strict. They assign you certain works and you will have to do that work very properly and on time. They don't like delays.

I took AIEEE (now JEE MAINS) 2011 & scored 287 in the exam. I opted for this college because it is one of the best engineering college in India. The admission process is pretty simple; one has to qualify the entrance exam then give the preference list as per their choice of branch & college, accordingly the option is allotted to candidates as per their rank in various rounds of counselling.

There’s no place to be at in the vicinity of the college since it’s located off the highway and students need to travel real far to get to places. The canteen has the exact dimensions of a DTC bus (perhaps it’s even smaller) but it’s definitely more dirtier. The food is cheap but tastes awfully bad and the students are unable to suggest one good thing to an outsider.

For the admission all you need is a JEE rank and a scoreof 50%above in 12th with PCM

Unlike the engineering counterpart, attendance here is not taken lightly. 75% attendance is absolutely needed, under any condition. There have been cases where students have been debarred even at 74%, so basically it’s strict out here and you need to attend religiously. Only a dress code is compulsory, and no other specific disciplinary rules.

There are seminars held in the college round the year but not by some big corporates. Students are made to understand how business works by showing a few presentations by start ups that have made big in life in a short span.

It’s a nice place to get graduate. Faculty is not so experienced though. But overall learning experience is good here. There is no free Wi-Fi in college. Timings are also little bit complicated than others. But overall environment is good. Strict directions are followed here. Events and communities are also very active here.

You must score an average of 55% or above to grab a seat in Amity Kolkata, along with compulsory subjects that are physics, chemistry and biology or you can have mathematics if you don't go for biology. After applying you will be called for a round of interview and an English essay to test your writing ability.
