Since its a private college the fees are a bit on the higher side but it is overall very feasible for a middle-class family. The fees was around 1 lac per semester between 2007-2011. There are also loans and scholarships available to those who cannot afford to pay the fees.
We had 6 courses every semester. The first year was the same for everyone irrespective of the stream. Thereafter the courses were fixed but we had choices of taking 1-2 electives per semester based on the workload and the stream that you are in. Not all electives were open to everyone.
Fees is feasible. Its 3 lacs per year
BITS being a private university is abit expensive. We had Rs.15,000/- as admission fees. We had Rs.50,000/- per semester for the first two years. We then had Rs.60,000/- for the remaining three years.
The courses were well structured. Mine was a dual degree, so it was a 5-year course. We had to complete 6 electives. I am from the last batch of the old curriculum. Most of the first two years' courses were common in the old curriculum. I did electives in Journalism, DSP, Medical Instrumentation, Physics of semiconductor devices and Image Processing.
Since the institute is private and we get a better facilites as compaired to govt. Collges, the fees is also slightly expensive.Whether its feasibld or expensive depends on the standards of student's family. Its managable for us.
We had basics courses from all branches and streams in our first year. Most of these courses had advanced concepts of the courses done in +2. All these courses gave us further understanding and real life applications. I was yet to get my B.E. degree based on my performance. All these basic courses help me alot to find my interests and finally decide which B.E. i should aim for.
Fee was much less and pocket friendly. I paid only Rs 22500 per semester as education fee.
Excellent standards of BITS. We were allowed to choose electives as per our interest. We could start taking electives starting from the second year and we could select as many as we like with minimum requirement to take 6 electives throughout the course.
Fee structure is Expensive. Above par i can say, but not much compared to other Private Universities like ( VIT or manipal )During my tenure at BITS , i was charged close to 1 lakh per semester that includes the Tuition fees , Mess, accommodation.
in 2007 when i joined I think it has changed over past few years. Last time i check it was more than 100000 INR per semester.Tution fees: 27500 per semesterHousing : 6000 per semMess : Rs 65 per day.
The curriculum is common is common for first year across all the branches, from second year onwards you have the courses based on your branch. M.Sc. (Tech) Is course shares most of it courses with Computer Science. You have choice to take 6 to 9 electives in third & fourth year. A variety of electives are available including AI, Parallel computing, technical report writing, effective public speaking etc.
Fee for each semester has now crossed the 1 lakh barrier. So pretty expensive.Admission FeesAdmission fees 25,500/-Semester FeesFirst SemesterSecond SemesterSummer term 1,00,250/-1,00,250/- 35,100/-Hostel fees is 8 k now. It was 5 thousand a couple of years back.
The course curriculum is pretty outdated for computer science engineering. The electives for computer science were few like AI, big data, HCI but the faculty lacked experience as well as skill. But overall the existing course structure uses the best book from top authors.
Costly 2lpa is the fees.
