IIT-D Boys Hostel:
Hostel of IIT-D are self-contained with all necessary facilities including an indoor games room, reading room, a lounge and a dining hall with mess. All hostels are working under the guidance/supervision of wardens. There are also some rules and regulations which is mandatory to follow by all for safety purpose.Below is the list of Boys’ Hostel:
Although the rooms are dingy and poky but they were our life. I cant imagine how did we adjust in those rooms and end up saving some space for extra stuff. The hostel fees being a govt college is negligible Rs. 750/- for semester. Food was pathetic. On the contrary we had a lot of options wherein we could satisfy our hunger - mess wasn't one of them.
Mess food quality is very good as compared to other colleges.Hostels and hostel rooms are well maintained. For M.tech for first year it is double sharing and for second year it is single sharing.Hostel fees is nominal per semester around 5000 rupees per semester.
Hostel and mess facilities are well maintained and grievances sorted out in an amicable manner. Hostel and Mess facilities had student council and represented by student selected by democracy. They represent student concern and have healthy, hygienic and friendly atmosphere
FoId In here is at first seem very good but once you get used to It it become normal mess fOod. Breakfast here served are very good both quantity wise as well as it fulfill our nutrition requirements. Best thing is you need not worry about quantity it's self servIce buffet system.
Only thing which lacks here is accommodation facilities as only 60 students are provided hostel seats on merit basis FMS has a legacy of being the oldest management institute in the country.
There are 13 hostels, each accommodating about 400 students. There isn't any hostel curfew in any of the hostels but opposite sex isn't allowed beyond visitors room at any time of the day. There Each hostel has its own mess, most of them stay open 24 hours. And there are some joints like Amul and Lipton in institute area which too remain open at night.
Our hostel rooms are being shared by three of us. It helps us in creating a great bond between atleast 3 of us. We develop qualities of sharing and caring. Hostel facilities are satisfactory in terms of cleaning and everything is available inside the campus only. Mess food is also nice. Although it can never replace the food made by our mothers but yeah, the mess food does not make us miss the home food.
I was a working professional. I did not use the hostel and mess facilities. Though the information which I got through the students who were availing these facilities was good feedback on the services. The other restaurants in the campus offer good food and facilities.
Hostels room are very small but new hostels are having good size old hostels wont have water facilities in each floor in old hostel lift also is not available and students are residing in forth and fifth floor new hostels are having lift facilities toilets and bathroom is not properly cleaned cleaning issues are there.
If not the best i would rate my hostel facilities to be average in the sense that there is 24 hr Net available in the hostels and the food is also good with lot of variations now the fee structure of IITs are recently revised by the government of india and though it is expensive with approx 25000 annual cost.
