Yes, MHRD gives scholarship to each student here. It ranges from 8000 to 28000 INR depending upon the course that you're enrolled in. You get 25000 rs. tax free loan which can be returned in 10 installments.
Students can avail a loan of 25K every year without interest and can pay it back in installments. GARP funding is another fund we can get if we are going for any conference or workshop abroad, it's about 1L per student that can be used in two installments.

Loan is actually not required. As I mentioned earlier. We get a stipend of 12.4k in which around 6k may be removed for hostel and mess fees the left out amount is just sufficient to cover up the fees.

There are multiple ways to get loans in Iisc. Every student gets scholarship. There are ug students, integrated PhD students, PhD students and summer students. There are post docs. Every one has their own fellowship from Iisc or government.
