I got a job right on the first day and in my dream company at that time i.e. Motorola India, as I wanted to join a cutting edge technology company in working for systems software. It was considered as only CMM level 5 in India with high quality standard and they only visited few colleges and were very selective in their interview process.
Yes, Internship program was very well chalked out with prior tie up with various companies. Students were asked to give preferences and were granted on the basis of previous semester score and interest area.
The USP of the course to be very honest was great placements (You get this course at a relatively low score and are placed along with Computer Science, so elgibile to apply to companies like Google, Microsoft. I am sure BITS Ranks in top 5-6 Colleges in India when it comes to placements. I guess the Average CTC (for my course) was around Rs 7 Lakh / Annum. The Top Companies were Amazon, Google, Bain offering from 10 Lakhs - 18 Lakhs but I have lesser idea since I did not sit for placements.
My internship Experience was good. First was after the 2nd year at a Social MediaMarketing Startup out of Bombay. I loved it and taught me naunces of a startup. The 2nd Internship was at INSEAD based out of France (Rank 5 Business School) where I worked with Their IT department. It was a lovely experience and truly Golbal.
Foe placement companies come to campus to recruit students. Almost everyone is placed in campus placements who sits for placement. Companies come throughout the year. Some of the companies are Oracle, Samsung, Qualcomm, Tata motors and a lot more and packages vary from 6 lpa to 30 lpa.
Bits provide two internships. One after end of second year, it's a two month internship and is generally without stipend. There is one six months internship in final year in all the prestigious companies and it's a paid internship with a good stipend.
The placement of Bits pilani is considered to be one of the best in India. The averages packages in branches like CSE are EEE are very high. The average package of CSE as per institute records is 27.04 lakhs and for EEE and ENI are about 13 lakhs. The core branches however do not have a great placement scenario. The average package for branches like mechanical and civil are about 8 lakhs.
Yes,Bits pilani provides internship to its students in the name of practise school. We have two practise schools namely PS1 and PS2. Some of the companies which provide internship are google India, Amazon, Microsoft india, intel, envidia and many more.
This is not applicable to me. Because i am already working in a concern. But i heard from the professors that the students are getting placed in a good concerns with a high attractive packages. The students are also able to get placed immediately after their exams.
Yes, But it was not applicable to me. Because i am already working in a concern. But i heard from the professors that the students are getting placed in a good concerns.
As said earlier too, the job opportunities are fairly better than the Tier 2 colleges and almost at par with the IITs. However, these also depend on your discipline with Computer Science offering as good as 20-25 LPA in India. My suggestion is to pick a company that focuses on learning rather than compensation.
My college has a program called 'Practice School', wherein the college offers internships to the students twice in a Bachelor's degree and thrice in a Master's one. The students are offered PS Stations (organizations that the college has shortlisted and tied up with) primarily based on CGPA, discipline and accommodation preference. The general stipend when I did my internship was about 10-15k INR per month. The overall experience is good since there is so much to learn and apply at the same time. If one does well, a pre-placement offer is also on the cards.
BITS pillani is known for its placements students get placed in one of the best companies in the world, each student can get 3 jobs maximum and every one will get 3 jobs and can make choice.
Yes we have two internship programs that we call practice schools one is at the end of 2nd year for 45 days where we are allowed to choose the company based on our merit in academics the second on will be for 6 months in 4th year where the average stipend is 6000 Rs in 2002.
Placements have always been good and almost entire batch gets placed by the end of placement season. However the distribution is quite uneven. Most of the companies come to hire CSE grads & Post Grads. I can recall following companies visited when I was around : Wipro - 8L, TCS - 3L, EnterpriseOne - 3.75L, Yahoo - 7L, DeShaw - 12L, Mocrosoft - 11L, NetApp - NA, Juniper Networks - NA, Sterlite Tech - 3.5L, Map My India - 3.5L, Nagarro - 4L.
Yes, there are tie ups with a lot of major MNCs and industry giants who invite Bitsians for internships. There are 2 internships, which are call practice school - 1 (2 months - at the end of 2nd year) and practice school - 2 (6 months - final year). The internships are awarded based on CGPA and choice filling. Generally the stipend varies between 10K - 30K for CSE/EEE students in PS2. for PS1 - the stipend are low or may not be a part of internship in some cases.
A lot of companies visit our campus in both semesters and you can sit in any company if you have completed the required courses. Generally, the core companies provide less package than the IT companies and consulting firms, but they do visit the campus.
Yes, they provide internships. There are 2 times when we go for internship. One is after first year, when we are not given any stipend, but is worth an experience about jobs. For second term, we go on internship for a semester in our fourth year, where stipend is provided.
The placements are very good with huge amount of companies visiting both semesters in the fourth year. Lot of fortune 500 companies visit institute offering packages ranging from Few Lac Rupees to Few Hundred Thousand Dollars with opportunities to work both in India and abroad.
The college provides internships with an initiative called Practice School (PS). A three month internship is provided during summers after end of second year with main focus of first hand industrial exposure. A six month internship is provided during fourth year for a whole semester with a flexibility to opt for either first semester or second semester.
