Course Curriculum Review

"Course curriculum is one of the best and oldest in the country. It is a bit tough also but it cover all the required study required in the semester. So overall it is quite good. First year everyone has a same curriculum. "

Fees Review

"Fee structure is a bit complicated. Those who have parental salary less than 100000 have free tuition fees. 100000 to 600000 have to pay 66000 and those who have parental income greater than 600000 have to pay approx 250000 pa. So it's a bit a tough for those who have salary just above 600000 pa."   Read More

1 semester my academic fees was 19092 and hostel fees 19000 other cast student fees i don't know . Fees was not important if any one not able for pay her fees then SBI bank provide her loan which is simple to get for 1 year general student give about 2 lac for 2 semester.

Course Curriculum -

My course b.tech in material science and english is very good for learn about materials and know very well research is good in IIT kanpur. So after B.tech i would like to complete my M.tech and phd. then i go teaching line .

Fees -

The major part of your fees is tuition fees. At my time i.e in 2011, it was approx Rs 70k per annum (excluding mess charges). Mess charges were approx Rs 18k per annum. So you can see the fees were very much affordable. Moreover, if you didn't belong to creamy layer, the college offered Rs. 60K per annum worth of scholarship provided you had done well in your acads.

Course Curriculum -

The course structure was pretty good, I think one of the best academic curriculum in India. In first year all the courses were same for all the disciplines. In 2nd year also most of the courses were same for all the students except for 2-3 courses per semester which were discipline specific. In third year all the course were related to your discipline, which gave thorough knowledge of your branch.

Fees -

The fee structure is moderate. It is around 15000 per semester for PG students. It is feasible for PG students since they receive scholarships from Government of India and the tuition fee is just 2500 per student. The huge facility in the institute justify the fee structure.

Course Curriculum -

The course content is very good. Apart from the conventional courses, e.g. core subjects, many advanced topics were part of curriculum. The Professors really work hard to make sure that the students actively participate in the discussion and get full exposure to the subject area. The major focus in the institute is in research. As a results, the approach of the teaching was also focused on research. Open book tests really reflected the overall understanding of the student.

Fees -

Because it is a government college fee is heavily subsidised and it cost me only about 35k per semester whereas private college with similar facilities would suck the fuck out of your pocket.

Course Curriculum -

Course is awesome, There is lots of flexibility to choose many electives from various departments. Courses are light and exams test basic understanding of subject to it is very easy to pass. M.tech part requires doing a thesis which helps in getting in depth knowledge of subject.

Fees -

The fee structure was around 40000 per semester (including hostel accommodation). It is quite expensive if we consider it with other government funded colleges in India. But the good news is that education loans are easily available. There are also plethora of scholarship opportunities for deserving cadidates, mostly on the basis of their economic status and academic performance.

Fees -

Total fees including hostel is about Rs 57800 per semester for general/obc category and 12800 for st/sc. And remember this fees also include caution money which is refundable. So you have to submit caution money about 1000 which will be refund after passout from the college. Also you have to pay mess fees which is about 12000 per semester.

Course Curriculum -

IIT approaches student learning assessment at the program level. For each program (defined as the combination of a degree-level and major, for example a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering), the program faculty identify a set of program-level student learning goals.

Fees -

At my time fee structure was feasible but right now I think it's expensive. But money doesn't matter in your studies. In campus, we have banks which provide loan very easily. So the campus have resources for each and every thing. At my time time fees was around 37k per semester but right now it is 100k per semester.

Course Curriculum -

Course curriculum is very soothing for each student like if you want to go in research in your department as well as in other department (if you have interest in other department rather than yours) then in India, there is no other place like this.

Fees -

Until 2015 the fee is feasible but from 2016 its expensive 2016 fee structure, Tuition fee about 2,30,000 and hostel and fees about 30,000 but there are many fee waviers. Reserved candidates get a fee wavier about 75% off and also the students with less annual income get fee waviers.
