Disaster in Paradise

Fees -

Fee structure owing to the huge scholarship is very feasible compared to other private universities. The total cost of B.Tech course is 9.5 lakhs but after getting a scholarship of second class, I will be paying around 3 lakh rupees for 4 years as tuition fee plus a hostel fee of almost 6.5 lakhs for 4 years. So i would be completing my B.Tech in not more than 10 lakhs for 4 years which is really feasible compared to other private universities.

Course Curriculum -

Since, the university is new (established in 2011), it still hasn't been able to set up a fix curriculum and is subjected to modifications every year thus causing major hassles and confusion for the students. However, the flexibility of choosing the subject of interest and being given credits for that is a very unique and appreciated thing.

If you are looking for something different than what's already out there

Fees -

Shiv Nadar University will offer you scholarships which is divided into slabs. Your scores in SNUSAT and your 12th standard, combined with your interviews will determine your slab. The entire structure with scholarships is a pretty sweet deal. But without the mentioned scholarships, it is definitely going to pinch your pockets.

Course Curriculum -

It has a pretty good approach towards research. It allows and promotes even undergraduate students to take up research projects and assigns mentors accordingly. A fund can also be granted, based on what the proposal is, what it hopes to achieve and how well it has been drafted. A multitude of electives are offered ranging from Communications to Management to Engineering.

Fees -

Fee structure is flexible and affordable. because there are providing world class education and infrastructure to the students and any student who join this level of college, will pay this much amount of fee. The fee includes tuition fee, lodging boarding, laundry, hostel expenses. This remains around 9L for entire course. Students are free to pay semester wise mess and tuition fees.

Fee structure is quite feasible and flexible as university offers various scholarships as per your score in entrance exams. Also for PHDs, monthly salary is there and for MBA and other post grads there is heavy discount under the program offered jointly by corporate and SNU together.

Since SNU gives Scholarships, the free structure is quite feasible (especially considering the value of our faculty). The tuition fee depends on the scholarship. The hostel fees is 50k yearly. Apart from that, there is mess charges and laundry which are nominal.

Almost 90 per cent of the students studying here have scholarship. This private university has state of art facilities and is philanthropic initiative. They are not here for profit. Most of the students pay less than what any other college would charge.

Course Curriculum -

The course curriculum is most interesting. And the policy of continuous evaluation is practised by means of quizzes, assignments and surprise tests apart from main exams. The credits are divided into VELS, REAL and IC. We are allowed to pursue minors as done abroad also. For example I m doing Computer Science Engineering while also studying Economics courses as my side subjects.

"Disaster in Paradise"

I had to give SNUSAT which is the university's private exam conducted only along with JEE MAINS. The scores of SNUSAT are not disclosed to the students and a final list of selected students getting admission in the university is released in the month of July along with their allotted streams (based on the preferences given by the students). The reason for opting this University was due to its quality curriculum which exposes students to the foreign education culture along with the benefit of being near to my house (1 hour away). Also the fact that despite being a private university, it does not believe in money-making policies and offers huge scholarship was another point to be impressed abo...

"If you are looking for something different than what's already out there"

The exam is called SNUSAT and the scores for your 12th standard are also considered in your application. The final scores are not revealed, just the status of the application. I saw it as an opportunity to explore different scenarios and then choose what I really wanted to dive into. SNU offers that, and so I went ahead with it.

"Giving lots of experience about the industry dynamics and shape according to it"

This program was offered by HCL Technologies Ltd, which gave us opportunity to learn new skill of the management, so that HCL can promote internal talent. HCL recommended outstanding employees for this program and then SNU assessed me through internal analysis tools like Written test and interview.
