Fee structure of IIT Roorkee is feasible. Annual fee for B.tech, Students is around 2,60,000 which include both dining and residence. Our college also provides fee waiver for those students whose father's income annual income is less than 4,50,000 and in favour college does not take their tuition fee that is 2,00,000.
The fee structure here is a bit high than a middle class person can afford.Recently it has been raised to around 2 lack per year. Although people from poor background are given some scholarship which reduces their fees a lot. As i am in second year my fees is around 1.4 lack per year which includes hostel and mess fees. So fee structure was feasible before the changes made by government.
The name of course which i am having is applied mathematics , it basically is a combination of rigorous mathematics and computer science . The course structure offered here is really good and one can have a very good research career if he go through each course patiently . With topics such as number theory, algebra, differential equations, real analysis, complex analysis etc.
During my times, it used to be very feasible as the per semester fee used to be around 30k including mess fess. Now a days it has increased multifold and has become very expensive. Now the annual fees is around 2 lacs per annum which may not be very feasible to many students.
It was very relevant i studied in B.Tech. so emphasis on research was not very much there. Still, lots of projects were there to get the first hand experience of research. The students having flair of research could do as much projects as they wanted /could have managed.
The fee structure is not very feasible after the MHRD's decision to hike annual fees for undergraduate courses in IITs from Rs. 90,000 to a colossal Rs. 2 lakhs. I had to pay Rs. 1,28,000 (inclusive of Seat Acceptance Fee of Rs. 44,000) as institute fee and Rs. 16,000 as mess fee both via Demand Draft.
Fee is feasible for all students for general it will be 118650 rupees for one semester, for other backward caste it will will 2\3 fee wavier for students whose father income is less than 500000 annual.and rest will pay full fee. for sc & st it will be full fee wavier.
There is approximately 1.15 lakh academic fee and 16000 fee for mess. This include hospital charges also. You can avail free medicines referred by the doctors free of cost . this fee is for general students. For sc,st,obc there is no admission fee so there expense will be around 30k-40k.
IIT roorkee course structure is well designed for a future engineer. In first semester there are courses which give you a overall idea of your branch.
The fee structure is very moderate. The fee structure nowadays keeps getting revised every now and then but its still less from what people shell out in private universities and colleges. Banks inside the college provide you with loans on the day of admission.
The course content is quite contemporary in its structure and is well suited for the industry with projects. There are a good range of electives depending on your interests to choose from in your second semester and you can do some audit courses as well.

Again as I have mentioned, the course is extensive with non-core subjects as well along with the core subjects. In the first year, I am being taught the following courses Mathematics, Introduction to Environmental Studies, Ethics and Self Awareness, Introduction to Computer Science and Engineering. electives in this semester (nor in the next semester), so I don't consider myself qualified to comment on the electives. I have seen a
Average fee would be 70,000 per semester. its feasible there are many oppurtunities, fee is worth for those who use facilities in college. Out of 70k, 10k would be for mess and accomodation and another 10k for activities and rest would go for teaching.
Courses are interesting but it depend on the teachers how they make the course interesting and also depends on students level of dedication. There's a great scope in some areas of research but not on every area.
Recently, the fee is hiked of all IITs. Currently, my fee per semester is: Tuition fee - 45000 Rs, Exam fee - 300 Rs, Registration fee - 300 Rs, Hostel, Rent - 2500 Rs, Electricity Charges - 2500 Rs, Mess Charges - 12000 Rs, Gymkhana Activities - 3000 Rs, Medical Insurance - 280 Rs. Fee varies semester to semester. Generally, it is around 70000 Rs. It is feasible for most students. Those students who have family annual income less than 4.5 lac are eligible for merit-cum scholarship(MCM).
Course structure in IIT Roorkee is flexible after the second year. A student has even one departmental elective course rather than institute elective course. A student has options of plenty of courses. So he can select a course of his own interest like power plants, automatic control etc. Also, there are management related courses in the third year like banking and bank finance, marketing research etc. Also, a student can take audit course from another department at the starting of the semester. But there are not a single project in academics until the third year. You have to approach a professor to take a project and if he agrees you can do a project before the third year.
