The FEE structure depends on what category you belongs and what course you are indulged in (UG/PG) recently fee structure was changed last year by HRD For B-tech its now 1 lakhs per annum tution fee and about 40 k other fee So its about 2 lakhs 80 thousand per year .If you belongs to SC/ST/PD you have to pay only others fee .You will get full tution fee waiver .For the persons having parents income less than 5 lakhs per year the tution fee is only 33% that is 66 k If income is less than 2 lakhs there is full tution fee waiver.
IITs are meant to be created for research purpose. There are lots of modern laboratory in every department equipped with lots of modern devices which you will not get easily in other engineering colleges.Coming to my course there is lots of opportunities in so many fields. You can have your research in core mathematics like Number theory, linear algebra and Complex analysis. You can have research in other advanced field like data mining ,cryptography and networks ,operation research and others .
All IITs are regulated by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India so the Fee for all program in IITs decided by MHRD ministry. Tuition Fees are same in all IITs for each program but some other Fees such as admission fee, orientation overhead fee, placement fee, hostel & mess fees can differ among the IITs. In 2013, the tuition fees hiked from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 90,000. From 2016 onwards the “annual” fee for undergraduate courses at IITs has been hiked from Rs 90,000 to Rs 2 lakh (tuition fees) from the upcoming academic session, sources in Human Resource Development ministry said today. There would also be a full fee waiver for SC/ST, differently abled students...
IIT-KGP, the largest and oldest IIT, is a confluence of world class multi-disciplinary courses, giving global exposure in academics and research, scope in entrepreneurship and best placement. If one wants to be more than an IIT engineer, IIT-KGP is the place you must come to. Talk about the latest interests - Nano Science & Technology, Energy Science, Environment Science & Technology, Bio-energy, Intellectual Property Law, Business Management, Financial Engineering, they are all here under one umbrella and you can choose these as elective papers for minor or microspecialization during your B.Tech. or Dual Degree Programs. If you are a Dual Degree student, you can even do your M.Tech. from...
Fee structure is normal here. Since, it is a Central Government Institute, we are not supposed to pay any kind of donations or college development fee etc. All the charges are subsidized and at nominal rates. Compared to the private universities of India, we are paying the college fees at about 80 % cheaper. Lots of funds are available for the students and professors for the proper utilization. We students can go abroad with institute funding, if selected.
We have about 200000 annual tuition fee.(If your family Income is below 100000 it is paid by government If above 100000 and below 500000, 60 percent of tuition fee is paid by government). Our other fees is about 70000 which includes mess plus hostel plus medical Insurance and other fee.
Sine I am in 1st year, I don't much know about my course Civil Engineering. But as far as I know is our placement record which not so good, only 6.5 lack average. But my department organised India's biggest departmental fest Meghalith and one of the best fest in whole world with average participation of about 600 collages.
The fee structure varies from batch to batch. For our batch, it is 50000 per semester for general category students. The fee structure is different for SC/ST category students and is a bit relaxed. However, scholarships are available for students coming from low-income backgrounds. Education loans are provided by banks at competitive interest rates.
The fee structure is quite reasonable. I'll be able to shed light on the fee structure at my time i.e. from 2009-2014. The cost per semester was approximately INR 50,000 (including tuition fees, mess charges, hostel accommodation, etc.). Students of pure sciences courses (like Mathematics and Computing, Chemistry, Physics, etc.) are eligible for INSPIRE scholarship which provides INR 80,000 per year.
The course is very well designed covering a variety of aspects in the field of Mathematics and Computing. It starts with basic courses like Mathematics-I and Mathematics-II in the first year. For students without any coding background, there is an introductory programming course in C programming. The following years contain various courses across various disciplines in Mathematics and Computer Science.
Fee structure is like as follows- Hall+mess= 25000 (approx) Tution= 45000 others= 5000 to 10000, total= 75,000 to 80,000. These are the fees for my batch( approx figures). But, fee structure is very dynamic. changes every year. Also, there has been a huge fee hike for the new batches going upto 1,00,000 to 1,20,000. I find it expensive.
The course curriculum is average, though vast. most of the time, the things are taught practically and the main focus is on the applications and the numerical. but, if one tries even an average, you shalt get good grades. there are video lectures available, e books, notes and all. full of resources. but, still i found the curriculum a bit tough.
Fee structure for the current students is quite feasible but for the recent 1st yr the fees is doubled which is outrageous , providing them with the same facilities as us.Around 1.5 lac per yr is feasible considering the facilities and management of the institute.
The curriculum at IIT KGPis well designed and efficient . It present student with enough practical and theoretical knowledge. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate it 8 . The only problem with the curriculum is that it offers courses only to the respective fields.
Comparing to other B-Schools who took lofty amount for management course ,our college fees is just around 4 lakhs for 2 years including hostel and mess charges. Apart from this we don't have to put money here and there so much on various events which usually happens in other B-schools.
Course structure is well structured with every nuances of Human Resource keeping in mind. Every domain of H.R will get covered through our course structure. There are various labs also for psychology and business statistics which help us to become good H.R professionals.
The fees structure in my case was 45000 tuition fee, including other hostel and mess charges the total fees amounted to around 70k-75k per semester. The fees has been increased from this year to around 1 Lac tuition fee per semester. However there are provisions for financial assistance depending on your caste and annual income of the family.
The course structure for Mechanical Engineering is quite good if you focus on research. The subjects are such that build your profile for research. Also, there are ample opportunities to develop your interest in research. Though I feel from the industry point to view some modifications need to be made in the curriculum.
