Kerala University (KU) LL.B. and LL.M. Admissions 2020: Dates, Eligibility, Application Form

Kerala University offers admission to L.L.B, Integrated L.L.B and L.L.M. programme. Candidate can complete the L.L.B course within a period of 3 years, the Integrated L.L.B. and LL.M. course have the duration of 5 years and 2 years respectively. Graduation degree holder will be eligible for admission in LL.B, LL.M and candidates qualified 10+2 will be eligible for LL.B Integrated.

Applicants appearing for qualifying exam are also eligible for admission.

Admission will be based on the performance in the Entrance Examination conducted by Kerala university. 

Application form can be submitted online from the official website of Kerala university (www.admissions.keralauniversity.ac.in) and pay the application fee of INR 500/- (INR 250/- for SC/ST) through Net Banking/Debit/Credit Card or SBI challan.

Eligibility Criteria

Course Wise Eligibilty

LLB

LLB (3 years)

  • Graduation degree from any recognised university
  • Minimum of 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST) should be scored in graduation
  • Candidates appearing for qualifying examination are also eligible for admission

Integrated LLB Program (5 Years)

  • Passed 10+2 from any stream
  • Minimum score should be 45% marks (general category) and 40% marks (SC/ST category) are eligible to apply for this programme.

LLM

  • LL.B degree holder can apply for LL.M from any recognised university
  • Minimum score of 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST category) should be secured in qualifying examination


How to Apply

LLB & LLM

Application form can be filled through the official website of Kerala university.

  1. Visit https://admissions.keralauniversity.ac.in
  2. Enter name, e-mail id, phone number along with date of birth for registration
  3. New user id and password will generate
  4. Type details of opted programme for entrance examination
  5. Enter academic details 
  6. Go to “Registration Payment” button
  7. Make payment of INR 500/-(general category) and INR 250/-(SC/ST category) through Net Banking/Debit/Credit Card or SBI challan
  8. Upload scanned photograph and signature
  9. Upload supporting documents
  10. Take a print out of filled application form and paid fee statement for future reference

Required Documents 

  1. Self attested copy of SSLC or any equivalent school records
  2. Original document of qualifying examination (if passed)
  3. Birth certificate
  4. Trasfer certificate (if applicable)
  5. Caste certificate (if applicable)


Admission Process

The following section contains information regarding selection process for LL.B./LL.M. offered by Kerala University.

LLB

LL.B. (3 years) / Integrated LL.B. (5 years)

Admission will be based on the performance and rank secured in Entrance Exam conducted by the university. 

  • Qualified candidate will be called for Document verification
  • Payment of programme fee will confirm admission

The entrance exam will be held for a duration of 3 hours and consist of 200 objective type questions based on the following topics:

For each correct answer, candidate will be awarded 1 mark while there will be deduction of 1 mark for every wrong answer.

LLM

LL.M. (2 Years)

  • Admission will be done on the basis of the performance and rank secured in the Entrance Exam.
    • The Entrance Examination will consist of two papers, each of 90 minutes duration.
    • Paper I will be of 100 Marks and shall constitute of the following subjects:

1 mark each will be given for every correct answer and there will be negative marking of 1 mark for every wrong answer.

  •  Certificate to prove date of birth
  • Transfer Certificate (TC) from the Institution last attended and Conduct Certificate
  • Provisional/Degree Certificate of qualifying examination
  • Migration Certificate (if applicable)

Special reservation criteria for 5-year Integrated LL.B. programme:

In addition to the 80 seats in each Govt. Law College, 1 seat each in the four Govt. Law Colleges will be reserved for the following categories

  1. Ex-service men/Children of Ex-Servicemen.
  2. Blind Candidates.
  3. Candidates under Sports quota.
  4. The Ex-Paramilitary personnel/Children of Ex-Paramilitary personnel

Note: One seat in Govt. Law College, Ernakulam will be reserved for a candidate from Lakshadweep
