Allahabad University LLB Admissions 2019: Eligibility, entrance Exam, Result

Established in September 1887, University of Allahabad (UOA) is a public central university and the fourth oldest in India located in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The University provides admission to various professional and non-professional courses, research and training programs.

University of Allahabad has a dynamic Law Department which offers Undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) as well as doctoral courses to students every year. It offers BA.LLB, LL.B, LL.M, D.Phil. and LL.D degree under the department of Law.

Students seeking admission to the Bachelor of Law (LL.B) programme must possess a graduation degree in any discipline. Admission of candidates to LL.B programme is done on the basis of their performance in LAT to be. Candidates can register for admission by filling and submitting the online application form, starting from the first week of April to the first week of May every year. Check Allahabad University Admission 2019

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor of Laws [L.L.B.] {Hons.} & LLB

B.A. LL.B (Hons.)

Duration: 5 Years

  • Students who have passed an examination in 10+2 or 11+1 course of schooling recognized by the Academic Council of the University or possess academic qualifications which are considered equivalent to 10+2 or 11+1 courses by the Bar Council of India.
  • Candidates who have secured 45% marks (42% for OBC and 40% for ST/SC) in the qualifying examinations.

LL.B

Duration: 3 Years

  • Any applicant who has graduated in a discipline of knowledge from a University established by an Act of Parliament or by a State legislature or an equivalent.
  • The applicant who has obtained 10+2 or graduation or post graduation through open university system directly without having any prior qualification for prosecuting such studies is not eligible for admission in the law courses.

Foreign Nationals or Non-Resident Indians (i.e., a citizen of India domiciled abroad) who have graduated from a foreign University, shall not be required to appear in the Admission Test.


How To Apply

LLB

Candidates can apply for admission in the UG LAW course by registering at www.aupravesh2019.com

Candidates must log on to the university website and follow the given steps:

  1. Candidates should fill the application form online with all the relevant information.
  2. Upload the academic documents.
  3. Next, the student should submit the application fee through the online payment modes available on the portal.(e-banking/credit card/debit card).
  4. Candidates must save the generated registration number and keep a print out of the complete application form.
  5. The registered candidates can appear in LAT only after downloading the admit card

All applications for the Test shall be provisional. If the candidate has filled in any wrong information, his admission may be canceled at any stage. The candidate shall be responsible for the veracity of all entries in the online form submitted.

Online Application Fee for B.A. LL.B (Hons.)

For General and OBC candidates – INR. 1600/-

For SC, ST and PH candidates – INR. 800/-

Online Application Fee for LL.B

For General and OBC candidates – INR. 800/-

For SC, ST and PH candidates – INR. 400/-

The candidates must download their Admit Cards one week before the Entrance Test.

Note: The foreign/ NRI candidates/ candidates exempted from appearing in the Law Admission Test should fill the application form through a separate procedure.


Admission Process

LLB

Admission to the B.A. LL.B course will be done through an Entrance Test held at All India Level by the University as per the norms and guidelines set by the Bar Council of India by its rules and regulations.
The test shall be of a duration of Two hours and will comprise of three sections of 100 marks each.

Admissions will be granted strictly in order of merit determined on the basis of the computed Test Score of the applicant. All the Law aspirants belonging to General Category are required to attain a minimum of 30% (27% for OBC category) marks to qualify and to get admission. However, there is no qualifying mark for SC/ST, PH, and EW/TW category students.

For the Three year-long LL.B course, the candidates must appear for the Law Admission Test.
LAT will comprise of 150 questions of 300 marks.
The minimum score required by the candidates to qualify the admission test is as follows.

General Category - 30%
OBC category – 27%
However, there is no qualifying mark for SC/ST, PH, and EW/TW category students.

Admission to Allahabad University or a constituent college thereof shall be made by the process of counseling.
The candidates shortlisted in LAT will be intimated for the counseling process where they will be submitting the required supporting documents along with the required fee.

Candidates whose name is in the Merit or Waiting list must bring the following documents-

  • Admit Card
  • Requisite Fee
  • Required Photographs
  • The original and Self-attested photocopies of all those marks sheets/certificates mentioned in the application form.

Admission shall not be given to the candidates in the absence of any of these required documents.


Reservation Criteria

The University offers 493 seats for LLB programme. Allahabad University follows the rules and regulations as per the Government of India, UGC and BCI for the reservation of seats. The seats reserved for different categories are shown:
