Established in September 1887, University of Allahabad (UOA) is a public central university and the fourth oldest in India located in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The University provides admission to various professional and non-professional courses, research and training programs.
University of Allahabad has a dynamic Law Department which offers Undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) as well as doctoral courses to students every year. It offers BA.LLB, LL.B, LL.M, D.Phil. and LL.D degree under the department of Law.
Students seeking admission to the Bachelor of Law (LL.B) programme must possess a graduation degree in any discipline. Admission of candidates to LL.B programme is done on the basis of their performance in LAT to be. Foreign Nationals or Non-Resident Indians (i.e., a citizen of India domiciled abroad) who have graduated from a foreign University, shall not be required to appear in the Admission Test.
Admission to the B.A. LL.B course will be done through an Entrance Test held at All India Level by the University as per the norms and guidelines set by the Bar Council of India by its rules and regulations.
The test shall be of a duration of Two hours and will comprise of three sections of 100 marks each.
Admissions will be granted strictly in order of merit determined on the basis of the computed Test Score of the applicant. All the Law aspirants belonging to General Category are required to attain a minimum of 30% (27% for OBC category) marks to qualify and to get admission. However, there is no qualifying mark for SC/ST, PH, and EW/TW category students.
For the Three year-long LL.B course, the candidates must appear for the Law Admission Test.
LAT will comprise of 150 questions of 300 marks.
The minimum score required by the candidates to qualify the admission test is as follows.
General Category - 30%
OBC category – 27%
However, there is no qualifying mark for SC/ST, PH, and EW/TW category students.
Admission to Allahabad University or a constituent college thereof shall be made by the process of counseling.
The candidates shortlisted in LAT will be intimated for the counseling process where they will be submitting the required supporting documents along with the required fee.
