BABASAHEB BHIMRAO AMBEDKAR UNIVERSITY, Lucknow was established on 10th Jan, 1996, by Government of India. It is recognized by UGC and accredited as an “A” grade university. The university has a dynamic campus with more than 4800 students enrolled in a broad range of graduate, post-graduate & doctorate programs including several professional schools.  The University offers a range of quality education in professional and academic courses viz arts, science, technology, law, commerce, computing, management etc. BBAU offers admission to following academic/ professional programmes for the year:

  • B. Tech (Civil Engineering ,Computer Engineering ,Electrical Engineering ,Electronics and Communication Engineering ,Mechanical Engineering)
  • M. Tech (Computer Science , Software Engineering, Nuclear Management)
  • MBA (Master of Business Administration)
  • MCA (Master of Computer Application)

Candidates with the relevant qualification can register for the above mentioned programmes. The University has reserved 50% seats for SC/ST candidates in all the teaching programmes including research programmes. In addition to this, the University has a provision of one additional supernumerary seat in each course for: Single Girl Child, BPL Student, Cancer, HIV and Thalassemia Patient. Check BBAU Admission 2019

Candidates can register for admission by filling-in the online application form and submitting the required processing fee. Admission to the above programmes is done on the basis of merit of the candidate in Entrance Test held by the University.

Eligibility Criteria


  1. Civil Engineering-( 20 seats )
  2. Computer Engineering -( 20 seats )
  3. Electrical Engineering -( 20 seats )
  4. Electronics and Communication Engineering -( 20 seats )
  5. Mechanical Engineering-( 20 seats )


  • Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in the science stream with Physics, Chemistry & Math as the compulsory subjects from a recognized board of school education or equivalent.
  • Candidate should have obtained  minimum 50% marks in the qualifying examination.However,candidates belonging to the reserve category candidates i.e. SC/ ST/ PH are provided with the relaxation of 5% of marks( i.e. they should have obtained minimum 45% marks)


  1. Computer Science -( 30 seats )


  • Candidate should have hold of Master of computer application (MCA)/master’s degree in computer Science /Mathematics / Statistics/ Operational Research / in any branch of Science from recognised University.
  • candidate with bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering candidate are also eligible
  • Candidate should have passed the qualifying degree with at least 50% (45% for SC/ST/PH) marks.
  1. Software Engineering-( 30 seats )


  • Candidate should have hold of master’s degree in information technology/Mathematics / Statistics/ Statistics or equivalent/MCA from recognised University.
  • candidate with bachelor’s degree in Engineering(CSE/IT/ Electronics or equivalent degree) are also eligible
  • Candidate should have passed the qualifying degree with at least 50% (45% for SC/ST/PH) marks.
  1. Nuclear Management-( 30 seats )


  • Candidate should have hold of master’s degree in Physics/Applied Physics/Chemistry/Applied Chemistry/Bio-Physics/Material Science/Bio-Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Nano Science/Electronic from recognised University.
  • candidate with bachelor’s degree in Engineering     (after 10+2+3)   in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics/Electronics & Communication/ polymer are also eligible
  • Candidate should have passed the qualifying degree with at least 50% (45% for SC/ST/PH) marks.

Candidate should have hold of B.Sc. (Computer Science)/B.Sc. (Information technology)/BIT/BCA/B.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) degree with 50% (45% for SC/ST/PH) marks along with one year professional experience.

How To Apply

MBA/PGDM , BE/B.Tech & ME/M.Tech

The candidates can apply for admissions by filling and submitting the complete online application form along with the required amount of processing fee and important documents. Candidate must logon to the official website of University: ( and follow the following steps:

  • Candidate must check and must ensure  their eligibility and other conditions like possession of an active and valid personal e-mail ID and a mobile number before applying for admission
  • After ensuring the eligibility criteria  candidate must start filling the application form through the university web site by clicking on the tab “Online Admission System”
  • For registration of online Application click “Register and Apply” and fill your Personal Details ,Contact Details ,Educational Details ,  other details about You .
  • Candidates are required to upload the scanned (digital) image(maximum 80KB for each document in JPG format only  ) of Recent Coloured Photograph   ,Signature of the candidate  ,Thumb impression (Left thumb for Male and Right thumb for Female)  and Photo ID that you will carry at the time of Examination
  • After filling up the application form review & Submit the form online (e) Payment
  • Now the candidate can pay the application fee  via ONLINE ( Debit Card/Credit Card /Net banking/NEFT)/ OFFLINE (Generate  and download the Challan and submit the fee at any branch of ICICI Bank) PAYMENT mode
  • A  Registration Number will be generated only after successfully deposition of the fee.
  • After depositing the Fee, candidate is required to Login once again (using e-mail ID and Password entered at the time of Registration) to know your Registration Number which is to be reserved for future reference.   
  • Candidate must keep the Xerox of application form and download the admit card by logging into their account and keep a copy of the same for future reference.

Candidates are directed to submit the photocopies of the following documents along with originals for the purpose of verification at the time of admission:

  • Mark Sheet/Grade Sheet of the qualifying degree course. 
  • Character Certificate from the Dean/Head/Principal of the University/Institution last attended. 
  • Migration Certificate from the competent authority of the University/Institution last attended, and 
  • SC/ST/PH/Kashmiri Migrant/NRI Certificate issued by competent authority.


  • Application fee General / OBC category candidates: Rs. 1200/-(Rs. Twelve  hundred  only)
  • Application fee for SC/ ST/ PH candidates: Rs. 600/-(Rs. Six hundred  only)
  • The candidates have to bring admit card and identity proof at the  entrance examination centre

Admission Process

MBA/PGDM , BE/B.Tech & ME/M.Tech

Candidates are selected for above mentioned courses on the basis of merit of the candidate in Entrance Test held by the university . The admissions will be offered to the students in the order of merit as per the results of entrance examination and the reservation policy of the university.

Blind and Disabled candidates, with the permission of the concerned University authorities, may bring their own writers whose maximum qualification should be Intermediate or 10+2 level. 



The university has several provisions to provide scholarships to the candidates who are undergoing various courses offered by the university. University also provides/accepts the scholarship scheme provided by GOI/state government/ etc. The university provides the financial assistance and the following facilities to the reserved categories:

  • Full fee waiver in certain courses for girl students up to 5 lakh annual income
  • SC/ST/Minority Coaching Centre
  • The University provides  Rs. 2000/- for dissertation, Rs. 3000/-for educational tour to  PG SC/ST students
  • Gold Medal is awarded to topper among the SC/ST students.


The university provides hostel facility to the deserving candidates. Hostel facility is available separately for males and females. The university provides mess, accommodation and various other recreational facilities to the candidates in the following hostel blocks of the university.

Desirous and eligible candidates can apply for hostel facility, however separate charges are to be paid for the same.

Placement cell:

The University Placement cell is helping the students to be placed in various organizations across India and abroad. The University Placement Cell is planning to launch E-brochure of the final year students of various departments. Specialized lectures, workshops and job fair are organized to provide students a platform to showcase their talents.
