Allahabad University M.Ed Admission 2019: Courses, entrance Exam, Result

The University of Allahabad is established on September 23, 1887.The University is the fourth oldest university in India. Allahabad University currently offers bachelor's, masters and doctoral degrees in various specializations such as science, art, commerce, management, computer application, and law.

University of Allahabad offers the Master of Education (M.Ed) course which is of two years duration. Candidates Seeking admission in the M.Ed program should have minimum 50% marks or an equivalent grade in B.Ed from any recognized by NCTE.

Admission to M.Ed course is done on the basis of the marks obtained by the Candidate in the University Entrance Examination. Interested students can apply online for this course by filling and submitting the form online in accordance with the instruction given on the website. To apply for this course, candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent in B.Ed from a recognized institute by NCTE.There will be relaxation in minimum qualifying marks of 5% for  S.C./S.T./O.B.C  And P.W.D candidates as per the Central Government Guidelines(General candidates should secure minimum 50% marks whereas reserved candidates should secure minimum 45% in B.Ed examination).

How To Apply


Candidates have to fill and submit the application form online by following  the below-given steps:

  • Registration: Candidates should log on to the official website of the university and select the desired program.
  • Fill Application Form: Candidates should fill their details such as name, address and other mandatory details in accordance with the instruction given on the official website. Candidates have to upload their scanned photograph and signature (With Black Ink and White Background).
  • Fees Payment: Candidates should submit the required entrance test fees of Rs. 1200/- (Rs. 600 for SC/ST and PH candidates) at any branch of HDFC Bank. To pay the amount, Candidates have to download  Challan from the University of Allahabad official website.The test fees can also be submitted by ATM Debit Card/Credit card or through Net Banking.
  • Submission of Application: After filling all the details, candidates are advised to check the filled details before clicking on submit button. After submitting the form successfully,  the website will show a confirmation message for the same. Once the form has been submitted successfully to the University, the candidate shall not be permitted to make any addition, deletion or alteration.


  • The test fees will not be refunded or carried over in case the application of the candidate is rejected.
  • The information entered in different columns is factually correct and complete.
  • The application form shall not be accessible after the last date of application.

Admission Process


Selection of students will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination, conducted by the university.The admission test will be of 150 multiple choice type questions and each question will be carrying one mark. The time duration of test will be 2 hours.The questions will test the candidates in the following areas:

  1. 10 Questions on Hindi Language Comprehension.
  2. 10 Questions on English Language Comprehension.
  3. 10 Questions on Current Affairs.
  4. 20 Questions on Mental Ability.
  5. 100 Questions on Core Course B.Ed. syllabus of the University of Allahabad.


The Seats will be reserved for the candidates who belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC), the Scheduled Tribes(ST) and OBC.

Reservation for Physically Challenged Candidates:  Candidates, who have a certified disability of not less than 40% in limb/orthopedic & physical disability of not more than 70% or a certified blind, may be admitted to the concerned course after the recommendation of Medical Board. 5% of the total seats are reserved for such students.
